“Sure, it’s gonna happen, down the line”; AJ Styles believes a match with current Champion is inevitable, says one of his moves hurts a lot
AJ Styles
AJ Styles have travelled the world in pursuit of his passion for wrestling. Before arriving on the scenes in WWE, Styles was a well-established name on several independent circuits including NJPW, ROH and Impact Wrestling. Styles was an extremely vital element in the overall success of TNA and he also congratulated them for their 20th Anniversary recently recalling some of his favorite moments and calling Christopher Daniels as his greatest opponent.
While debuting for WWE as a surprise entrant in the 2016 Royal Rumble match, he was already a big deal there and immediately got the rightful treatment. Soon after he entered into a WWE Championship program with Roman Reigns however he failed in capturing the title on his two opportunities at Payback and then at Extreme Rules. The major push for Styles came when he got drafted to Smackdown where he became the WWE Champion for the very first time when he defeated Dean Ambrose for the title at Backlash. He then held the Championship with himself until Royal Rumble next year when finally John Cena defeated him to win his historic 16th World Championship.
Although, Styles had not held the top prize in all of sports entertainment ever since since late 2018 when he dropped the title on the Survivor Series go-home edition of Smackdown to Daniel Bryan. It would not be wrong to say that after losing that night, AJ Styles’ downfall came into play and the capacity of that was that big that it hasn’t been recovered till date. AJ Styles is currently performing on Monday Night Raw with absolutely no direction whatsoever.
AJ Styles says a singles match with Gunther will definitely happen
The Phenomenal One has given so many great matches over the years in WWE with the likes of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, John Cena, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar just to name a very few of them. Still there’s room for tons of dream matches for the former WWE Champion. While appearing on this week’s WWE : The Bump, AJ Styles said that he would definitely face Gunther somewhere down the road in future but added that he needs to avoid that sick chop to his chest.
“Sure, it’s gonna happen, down the line, it definitely will happen. I think one of the things I’m gonna stay away from is, if I can, is that massive chop coming across my chest. It’s happened a lot, it’s part of wrestling. But, man, that can’t feel good.”
