“I don’t know where he is in the mix”- Wrestling journalist concerned about Kevin Owens’ future endeavors in WWE

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is one of the most entertaining superstars on the current roster of WWE. He’s been a dominant Universal Champion with the company alongside his multiple championship triumphs. The dedication of being a sports entertainer is what drives Owens to stay at the top of his game everytime he shows his face on the WWE programming. He bamboozled John Cena in his first ever main roster match back at Money in the Bank 2015 while being the NXT Champion when he defeated The Franchise Player after a solid display of various movesets, that night alone gave a lot of clear vision about how big of an asset he was going to be once he arrives on the main roster.

Since the past few years in WWE, Kevin has headlined multiple premium live events dishing out spectacular in-ring displays and compelling storytelling with any program he was given to work with. Most recently, potentially the biggest night of his entire wrestling career came when he faced the legendary ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin in a formal match in the main-event of Wrestlemania Saturday earlier this year.

This match marked Austin’s in-ring return for the first time since losing to The Rock at Wrestlemania 19. Owens and Austin had a great old-school fashioned match with Stone Cold taking several unexpected bumps during the whole match, but in the end when Owens bounced off a chair in his own face, Austin stunned him to pick up the win.

After losing in a high-profile match at Wrestlemania, Kevin started a storyline with Ezekiel who was claiming himself as the younger brother of Elias. The story kept on going entertaining over the next few weeks as Owens wasn’t ready to accept the truth about Ezekiel and was reluctant on proving that Ezekiel is only Elias himself but failed miserably to do so. WWE even produced a segment using heavy CGI techniques making Elias and Ezekiel being present at the time in the same frame and that blowed the mind of Kevin Owens.

Next week, the Prizefighter was rumoured out to be injured minorly taking him out for almost a month off WWE television. He although returned last night on Raw, held a Kevin Owens show with Riddle saying he’s trying to get away with that Elias/Ezekiel stuff as far as possible to keep his inner peace. Wrestling journalist Bill Apter speculated on the WWE future of Kevin on this week’s Sportskeeda’s Legion of Raw saying he isn’t sure about where Owens will go from where he’s currently standing at. He even praised Kevin as a great performer calling to have a compelling story with him, WWE needs to incorporate someone as talented as Owens against him.

“So where does Kevin Owens go from here? I don’t know where he is in the mix. We have to get through SummerSlam and I don’t know where Owens fits with anyone that I’m looking at this point in WWE. He’s been through the entire roster and I enjoy his little talk show gimmick, he’s a really good wrestler. He’s a really good, hot performer, [and] you need to match him up with somebody hot,” said Apter.
