Austin Theory is gutted after his failed Money in the Bank Cash in on RAW this week, and rightly so. This week on RAW, Bobby Lashley took out Mustafa Ali backstage and made sure that he was the one who would accept Seth Rollins’ Open Challenge to fight for the US Title.
Before the match could begin, Lashley unleashed a brutal assault on Seth Rollins. It got so violent that WWE referees and official, Adam Pearce had to come down to stop the ‘All-mighty.’
Austin Theory saw this as a golden opportunity and made his way toward the ring with the contract. He cashed in his contract and was on the verge of winning when The Almighty pulled the referee out and destroyed Austin Theory at ringside. As Theory entered the ring, he fell prey to Rollins’ stomp and lost his opportunity.
Numerous fans have criticised the WWE’s decision as stupid, and they now despise Triple H for his treatment of Theory. Many felt that with this move, Austin Theory had been buried, and that this was done because, according to Triple H, he wasn’t the best candidate to win the MITB contract this year. Some believe that there may be additional plans for theory in the WWE.
Austin Theory was called Vince McMahon’s prodigy, and Theory was his favourite. Apparently, Vince saw John Cena in Austin Theory and wanted to make him the next John Cena in the WWE. Austin Theory also had an encounter with Cena this year during his 20th anniversary celebration on RAW.
Theory boasted about his achievements to Cena and questioned about his achievements when he was of his age. As Austin Theory proceeded to take a selfie with Cena, The Former WWE Champion, without saying a single word the entire time, just walked away.
Today, Theory has posted a picture of that encounter with John Cena on his social media handle, thereby teasing a match with Cena. A match was speculated to happen between the two at SummerSlam this year by that didn’t take place. With The Cenation leader speculated to return for a match at WrestleMania next year, fans might get to see a showdown between the two.

Austin Theory spoke about the advice he got from John Cena
Last year, during an interview with Metro.co.uk, Austin Theory spoke about the advice that John Cena gave him during his visit to the performance Center, when Theory was a trainee. He said that Cena had spent some one-on-one time with each rookie that day and that he was impatiently awaiting his turn.
According to Austin Theory, Cena told him that people will always remember you for your personality more than your accomplishments. Theory stated that he didn’t understand this before he got into the Way at the NXT.

“Something he said to me was, “No one will ever attach to your performance, they’ll only attach to your personality……This is something I didn’t understand before I got into The Way and really started getting into my personality and my character, I just felt like those times before I was in The Way and I was performing, I felt I was too serious and trying to play something that I wasn’t.”
