WWE hosted a press event before Elimination Chamber: Perth to let the crowd interact with WWE superstars. As such, multiple stars like Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Becky Lynch, and Logan Paul made appearances to hype the event. The main superstars that the Aussie fans were happy to see appear were the hometown favorites, Rhea Ripley and Grayson Waller.
Waller is a heel, but surprisingly, he got a babyface reaction from the crowd. When the 33-year-old Superstar mentioned how John Cena wanted to bring WrestleMania to London but not to Australia, the crowd instantly booed Cena. It was shocking since Cena has been adored by many due to his legendary status. What was more shocking was that the local audience chanted, “Cena sucks.”

The chants that emerged at the press event are reminiscent of the days of Cena’s career in the 2010s, when the WWE Universe legitimately hated The Cenation Leader. Therefore, it was quite amusing to witness “Cena sucks” chants in 2024. Moreover, throughout his recent long run in 2023, he was barely booed and was always welcomed with a huge pop.
The SmackDown Superstar will be seen hosting his talk show, The Grayson Waller Effect featuring Cody Rhodes and Seth “Freakin” Rollins as special guests. The two massive babyfaces will join forces to address their situation with The Bloodline. This comes after the family faction targeted Rhodes at the WrestleMania XL Kickoff Media Event and on Raw this week.
Grayson Waller hints at Seth “Freakin” Rollins potentially turning on Cody Rhodes
The Aussie Icon has revealed that he acknowledges The Bloodline and has acknowledged The Rock as his boss. It comes as no surprise since the duo appearing on his show are The Bloodline’s prime enemies. Last week on SmackDown, Waller was seen chatting backstage with Paul Heyman. Many fans claimed that The Special Counsel was ‘counseling’ him for his upcoming segment.

Recently, the superstar from Down Under took to X to share an unpleasant picture. The photo is from the Raw episode post-Hell in a Cell 2022, when Rollins attacked an injured Rhodes. The Visionary acknowledged The American Nightmare as the better superstar before attacking him. Waller seems to be igniting a sense of suspicion in Rhodes’ mind by opening a closed chapter from his book.
Waller also supported The Great One’s message to Rhodes and Rollins on X before the highly anticipated segment. The People’s Champion promised to deliver both superstars a beatdown if things went out of hand. Although Triple H has cleared The Rock’s status for the PLE, only time will tell what goes down in the Land Down Under.
