It’s been well over 2 months since Matt Riddle last appeared on WWE television. During the December 5th edition of Monday Night Raw, the Original Bro got demolished by Solo Sikoa. Following a grueling Tag Team Championship match against The Usos, the former UFC star got brutally mauled by the Street Champion.

Sikoa payed homage to the late, great Umaga in his assault over Riddle. As a result of some earth shattering maneuvers, the King of Bros was given immediate medical attention. After a while, he got escorted out of the arena on a stretcher. Initially, that injury angle seemed like a month’s thing. However, things were more serious from inside as they appeared from the outside. WWE smartly used that televised ambush as a way to lend some time off for Matt Riddle.

Actually, Matt Riddle violated WWE’s wellness policy following a second level drug test failure. As part of the repercussions, the company suspended him for 60 days and sent their former United States Champion on a rehab. That period is done and dusted and Matt Riddle is now available to make his return. On his Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided some much needed update over one-half of The RK-Bro.

“His suspension should have been up already so either he’ll make an appearance – sometimes if you’re not on the WrestleMania card […] they just delay their return until after Mania. I don’t know if that’s the case, he may show up next week or whatever. But he was suspended, his suspension is now over.”

Within days of their association, Randy Orton & Matt Riddle quickly became the fan favorites. They soon picked up a name for their tag team as the RK-Bro. What made their pairing so unique was the difference in gimmicks. Where on one hand Randy got portrayed as the mentor and highly decorated superstar. On the other side, Riddle kept growing on his comedic accent and entertained the WWE Universe through his unique mannerisms.

After losing their Raw Tag Team titles in May last year, The Viper got disappeared from WWE programming. Later it was revealed that the 14-time World Champion has seriously banged up his back. But right now, he’s doing pretty good. Following a back fusion surgery, the Apex Predator is on the road to recovery. Some of his recent public appearances indicate that he’s doing fine.

Also, the Legend Killer recently placed an order to longtime wrestling bootmaker Jose G Sanz. In the e-mail he received, Sanz disclosed that Orton has contacted him over his in-ring return. Sooner than later, the 42-year-old will be back doing what he does to perfection. Plus, considering their previous success as a team, WWE won’t hesitate to make them work together again.
