The WWE has finally started announcing the inductees for their esteemed Hall of Fame, which is just weeks away. However, despite being heavily rumoured, the six-time World Champion, Batista, might miss out on the event once again.
According to PWInsider, Dave Bautista is not available during WrestleMania week this year. The Hollywood star will be shooting his latest project, “My Spy,” over in South Africa around the time of the Hall of Fame ceremony on March 31. As WrestleMania goes Hollywood, many fans expected “Drax the Destroyer” to headline this year’s event in LA. Nonetheless, it seems that the fans will have to wait at least another year for Batista to get his induction.
The Animal was originally slated to headline the Hall of Fame class of 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the ceremony was postponed for the next year, and Batista had to pull out due to his very busy schedule. Dave has shown his desire to receive the honour in front of the fans and to show his gratitude in person whenever he gets the chance.
Earlier this year, Batista was asked about his status for the Hall of Fame ceremony in an interview. The “Glass Onion” star said that he wasn’t sure, but he would be “trying” to make himself available for the ceremony. The former WWE Champion wrestled his last match at WrestleMania 35 against Triple H. After the event, Batista soon announced his official retirement from his in-ring career.

How the WWE Hall of Fame class is shaping up this year?
The WWE Hall of Fame class of 2023 will be headlined by Rey Mysterio, who was announced as the first inductee on SmackDown last week. The Biggest Little Man is also currently building up a potential match against his son Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania, which is unprecedented. The match is rumoured to be the last for the 48-year-old legend. However, it is still not officially confirmed for the Show of Shows.
The Great Muta, a.k.a. Keiji Muto will also join Mysterio in the WWE Hall of Fame. Ric Flair officially announced him as an inductee into WWE’s The Bump on Wednesday. Muto wrestled his last match earlier this year on February 21 against Tetsuya Naito. This was followed by an impromptu match against Masahiro Chono, ending his 39-year wrestling career against the same opponent he started it against.
PWInsider also reported that there will be three more names joining the WWE Hall of Fame class this year. One of these names who is highly rumoured for induction is Stacy Keibler. The report also suggests that there are no tag teams slated for induction in 2023. The ceremony will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on Friday, March 31, immediately following SmackDown.
