Bayley and her former partner Sasha Banks had a remarkable run as a tag team in WWE. But Banks’ departure from the company left the 34-year-old alone for a while until she formed her own fcation, The Damage CTRL. Sasha’s absence from WWE saw her join NJPW last year. And now, when Bayley was asked about her chances of appearing with her former partner in NJPW, she declined the idea, stating that she is too old for it.

In an interview with Inside The Ropes, Bayley was asked about her possibility of going to NJPW. She made it clear that she does not intend on falling in line, as her body can’t cope with it. The Role Model stated that the Japanese style of wrestling is intense and that she is too old for that. Bayley appreciated what Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) does in that company. She said that she could never do that.

Bayley stated that Mercedes Mone is more athletic and brave than her. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion said that she can only support her and not accompany her. She added that Mercedes can go ahead and do all of that, but her body won’t support her in doing so.

The D,amage CTL leader stated that she can participate in it just for the sole purpose of gaining experience, but not at this stage of life. Bayley concluded by saying that she will see her future possibilities, but right now she has to focus on her time in WWE.

Sasha Banks left the company in May 2022 with her then-tag team partner Naomi. She landed in NJPW with the name Mercedes Mone on January 4, 2023, at Wrestle Kingdom 17. She has been a one-time IWGP Women’s Champion but is now on hiatus due to her injury.

Bayley wants Mercedes Mone to return to WWE

Bayley’s best friend Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) made her way into NJPW earlier this year. As a result, Bayley was asked during an interview with Gorilla Position whether she requested Banks to come back or not. To which Bayley’s stated that she begs her every day to return to the Stamford-based promotion.

She also stated that Sasha Banks’ happiness matters to her more than her presence in the company. Bayley added that she would like to step into the ring regardless of the location, whether it is teaming up with her or whether it is against her. However, the 34-year-old believes that Mone just needs to accomplish her dreams during her time in that promotion.

Mercedes Mone’s time in NJPW has seen her become the IWGP Women’s Champion within two months of her debut. She has had a decorated career in WWE, with several accomplishments to her name. Bayley also agreed with the idea of having The Four Horsewomen face off in the main event of WrestleMania.
