Bayley is a veteran of the WWE women’s division. The Role Model has shown on numerous occasions why many fans and co-workers regard her as one of the most selfless workers in the industry. However, she has been on an unwanted four-year losing streak due to that as well. Moreover, this extended during the most recent live event.
During the WWE Holiday Tour in Detroit, Bayley and Iyo Sky lost to the team of Bianca Belair and Shotzi. As a result, the former Women’s Champion has extended her losing streak on live events, lasting 1397 days. The 34-year-old has often been at the end of similar losses over the past few years or so.
Bayley’s last live event victory came before the COVID-19 pandemic, which is shocking for any wrestler, let alone a Grand Slam Champion. The Damage CTRL leader’s abysmal record can also be due to her ‘heel’ persona. As many might know, babyfaces are generally favored during live events, as wins and losses are not accounted for in the programming.
Despite that, the WWE Universe has noticed how frequently Bayley loses on live television as well. In addition to that, the veteran is usually at the end of most pinfalls during tag team action. Needless to say, fans are hoping for a better year for one of the most respected women’s wrestlers of all time.
What is next for Bayley and Damage CTRL?
The ongoing Bayley and Damage CTRL storyline on SmackDown is one of the most intriguing parts of the show. Since Kairi Sane’s WWE return, the Role Model has felt ‘left out’ of the group. This further escalated after the faction’s loss at Survivor Series in the WarGames battle.
As a result, the former Women’s Champion was banned from ringside during any matches involving the group. These actions have led many to believe that an expulsion from the faction she created is inevitable for Bayley. The latter has already announced her entry for the Royal Rumble match.
The heavy rumors of Sasha Banks returning to WWE have added to the conception of the storyline as well. If The Boss does show up at the PLE, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for Bayley and her relationship with her teammates.
