“I think it got a little STAGNANT”- Bayley believes that the women’s division had got sluggish and dull in the last few years

Bayley in WWE

Bayley has fought in her first televised match after a year on RAW. The Role Model has defeated Aliyah in a singles match on the latest edition of RAW. Bayley made her return to the company at SummerSlam with Former NXT Champion Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai, and the group has now been as DAMAGE CTRL. The Stable is set to face Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka at the Clash at the Castle Live event. The Role Model has resumed her rivalry with Belair but is yet to face her for the Championship.

The last time Bayley was a champion was when she held the SmackDown Women’s Championship for over a year and ultimately lost it to Sasha Banks at Hell in a Cell 2020. The Role Model’s work as a heel has been praised by many and it would be interesting to see what she does as the leader of the Villainous Stable. In a recent appearance on After the Bell Podcast, she credited Triple H for helping her built the stable and said that Triple H has a huge impact on everyone of them and has helped her a lot in trying to figure out the vision.

During a recent appearance on Corey Graves’ After the Bell Podcast, Bayley said that during her injury she enjoyed watching the Women’s division develop and is very proud of what occurred during her absence. She noted Liv Morgan winning the Championship as one of the best moments and many other exciting things.

She also noted that it was an advantage to be an outsider and view the things and point out what changes are needed as the people who are inside sometimes don’t realize what’s going on because they are close to it. She meant that the women’s division needed some changes even though everything was going well.

In the same interview, Bayley said that, over the last few years there have been some periods and matches that have taken the women’s division to the next level and there have been changes big or small but at some point, it also became dull and sluggish. Bayley said that seeing the same faces and same style of matches and there was a point when she thought that it became a sort of lackluster.

“I think there’s been time periods and matches that have taken it to the next level. Whether it’s a little bit or whether it’s a big change or it opens one set of eyes or thousands of eyes. I think it kind of got to a point where it was just a little stagnant. You ‘re kind of seeing the same faces or you’re seeing the same style matches, you’re seeing the same structure matches, or the same like, ‘OK, the girls are gonna be in this slot and it’s gonna be this long.’ I think it got a little stagnant.”

The Clash at the Castle Live event will take place on September 3rd at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff, Wales. After the event it would be exciting to see when the Role Model and The EST of WWE lock horns in a singles match.
