Lyra Valkyria has done it! The rising superstar of WWE has officially unseated The Man, Becky Lynch, to capture the NXT Women’s Championship. The mentor-mentee duo collided with each other on the main event of night one of NXT Halloween Havoc. Following the thrilling main event collision, Lynch took to her social media to break the silence on her loss.

Shortly after her shocking defeat to Valkyria, Big Time Becks sent a four-word message to the WWE Universe on X. She symbolically passed the torch to the new-generation superstar. In another interview from earlier this year, Lynch claimed that Valkyria would be a top female wrestler in WWE.

Speaking of the match, the two superstars didn’t hold back from bringing their A-game. Valkyria kicked out of a vicious Manhandle Slam, leaving the crowd flabbergasted. When Becky went for a second one, the former swiftly rolled through and got the pin. In the conclusion, the 27-year-old got the better of her idol, Becky Lynch, to claim her first-ever NXT Championship.

After the match, Lynch grabbed the championship from the referee and handed it over to Lyra. The two went for an emotional embrace to close out the show. In addition, the newest WWE superstar, Jade Cargill, was shown sitting on a throne, watching the main event action unfold. It remains to be seen whether Becky Lynch is indeed on the radar of Big Jade.

Three reasons why Becky Lynch’s NXT Women’s Championship reign is one of the greatest title reigns in recent memory

Becky Lynch’s career came to a full circle on September 12, when she captured her first-ever NXT Women’s Championship. She defeated Tiffany Stratton to claim the title and became a Grand Slam champion in the process. But every fairytale has an end, as does Lynch’s spectacular title reign. She lost her title to Lyra Valkyria, ending her glorious reign at 42 days.

Nonetheless, the significance of title reign has nothing to do with its longevity. Lynch has proved the former statement true with her latest championship run. There are three major reasons why Big Time Becks’ NXT Championship reign can be regarded as one of the greatest runs in recent times:

First, the Man proved herself to be a workhorse champion with back-to-back title defenses. Throughout her title reign, she defended her title against the likes of Tegan Nox, Natalya, Indi Hartwell, etc.

Second, not only did Lynch prove herself as a workhorse champion, but she also helped in giving screen time to so many underutilized talents. The 36-year-old used her title to give a chance to the above-mentioned superstars, who rarely get TV time.

Lastly, Becky Lynch boosted the profiles of Tiffany Stratton and Lyra Valkyria, showcasing them as future stars of the women’s division. Her brief stint on NXT was a massive success, with all segments and matches featuring Lynch leading to a significant spike in ratings.
