What a heartbreak it was for Becky Lynch fans as The Man lost her NXT Women’s Championship last night. Heading into Night 1 of NXT’s Halloween Havoc, Lynch was riding on confidence following her hard-fought victory against Indi Hartwell on Raw. That gave her a much-needed tune-up before she stepped into the ring with Lyra Valkyria this week on NXT.

In a closely fought battle, Becky came so close to retaining her title at times. However, Lyra Valkyria displayed her wizardry to pip her senior compatriot from Dublin and become the new NXT Women’s Champion. During the home stretch of the match, Lyra reversed Becky’s Manhandle Slam to roll her up for the victory.

As much as the 27-year-old was delighted over the biggest win of her WWE career, the look on Becky’s face said it all. The WrestleMania main-eventer from Ireland couldn’t simply believe what had struck her. At one point, Lynch even snatched the title from the referee’s hand when he was about to bestow it on Lyra. However, the Big Time Becks wanted to do the honors on her own, and both ladies eventually hugged it out.

With this loss, Becky’s little over 40-day title reign has come to an end. It was fun while it lasted. The fans were enjoying that gold being on Lynch’s shoulders as she made it a stepping stone for the upstarts. Becky was a fighting champion, and she put on some bangers with the likes of Tiffany Stratton, Tegan Nox, and Indi Hartwell, to name a few. However, it was time for her to pass on that legacy to her countrywoman.

For those wondering what will be the next step in Becky Lynch’s immediate future, just hold on. Outside of the euphoria of Lynch vs. Valkyria last night, a surprise visitor took a seat to have a look at their match. That woman was none other than Jade Cargill.

She was there from the very beginning, as the former AEW star had the best seat in the house. Cargill and Lynch had a stare-down, which was enough for the chills. It’s the second time that these women have come face-to-face on camera.

Two weeks ago on Raw, Jade first got into Becky’s face, where the latter asked Cargill to get in line. And last night was a clear indication of things to come. It couldn’t be made more clear that Jade Cargill might’ve just gotten her first WWE feud.
