Becky Lynch is one of the most accomplished and successful female wrestlers of all time setting up a massive record for the Raw Women’s Championship in terms of number of days hold at 398 but was forced to relinquish the title back on May 10, 2020 episode of WWE Raw to Asuka following she announced her pregnancy in an emotional moment. Becky also became the inaugural Smackdown Women’s Champion after she won a 6-pack women challenge at Backlash in 2016 defeating Charlotte Flair, Natalya Tamina, Carmella and Naomi.
But, Becky Lynch’s career truly projected to insane heights from 2019 after she adopted a bada*s gimmick called as “The Man” which became insanely over among the fans and this really helped Becky realising the real she. Becky won the 2019 Royal Rumble match, main-evented Wrestlemania alongside Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair and won both Raw as well as the Smackdown Women’s Championship as part of the “winner takes all” stipulation.
Lynch had some significant feuds and matches throughout 2019 with most prominent of them coming against Sasha Banks. The two female athletes throwed out at each other in an incredible match inside of Hell in a Cell match for the Raw Women’s Championship which was heavily appreciated by the entire WWE Universe. Dave Meltzer gave this match a solid 4.5 rating.
One of her toughest looking threats came in around the time of Wrestlemania 36 when she faces the unforgiving wrath of the Queen of Spades and former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler. Although at the marquee event of Wrestlemania, Becky defeated Baszler which took in front of zero attendance at the WWE Performance Center due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stephanie McMahon received a cheeky reply from Becky Lynch herself while praising the deeds of The Man
In November 2019, an online portal named as the Buzzfeed scripted down 19 moments as to why 2019 was the year of Becky Lynch to which Stephanie McMahon responded while showing his appraisal for Becky and said “There’s no denying that 2019 was the year of The Man” while tagging Becky Lynch.
Former Raw Women’s Champion responded in a bit quirky fashion to Stephanie’s post reminding her of the moment when Becky punched her in the face during February 4th, 2019 edition of Monday Night Raw after Stephanie told that as of that moment Becky Lynch was suspended from WWE. Becky wrote this in her reply to McMahon’s post – “This should have been number one”, posting that pic of Stephanie getting punched in face below that.
