In a WWE digital exclusive clip, Becky Lynch spoke about her new milestone, immediately after her big win last night. The raw superstar won the NXT women’s championship for the first time in her career last night, becoming a grand slam champion in the process. She said, “Family full of champions. It’s us. Me and Seth Rollins”. Lynch further stated the husband-and-wife duo are both champions and that they dominate this business.
Becky Lynch is certainly one of the greatest to ever do it in WWE. Noted for her scathing savagery in promos, Lynch has achieved every possible accomplishment in her decade-long WWE career. Despite her rise to the top on the main roster, the Man had never won the NXT Women’s championship until last night on NXT when she won the title from Tiffany Stratton.
The feud between Lynch and Stratton set off when the former mistakenly called Becky a former NXT Women’s champion on the August 22 episode of NXT. Stratton confronted the man in a behind-the-segment on payback and apologized to her mockingly. On the last week of NXT, Lynch appeared on the titantron to challenge the champion for her prize. A title match was set between the two on this week’s edition of NXT, where Lynch emerged victorious over Stratton.
Becky added to her achievements with a hard-fought win, using a Disarm-Her and a Manhandle Slam to end the former champion’s 107-day reign. Tiffany secured the women’s title at NXT Battleground by defeating Lyra Valkyria in the tournament finals for the vacant championship.
Becky Lynch speaks about wrestling dirtsheets and its impact on mental health
On the “Sports Media Podcast”, Becky Lynch appeared as a guest with Richard Deitsch, the senior writer at The Athletic. Lynch spoke at length about how she navigates her social media, the impact of social media and dirt sheets on mental health, and writing an autobiographic book.
When asked about how she deals with the negative reports and toxic comments, she said, she doesn’t take notice of what others write or speak about her. “Somewhere it lives in your head. Especially when it’s the negative stuff, it will live in your head”, Lynch added. Thus, she tends to avoid public opinions as they end up taking a toll on an individual’s mental well-being.
She further stated that it is crucial to make your own decisions based on your guts without getting swayed by others’ opinions. Lynched also touched upon the debated topic of kayfabe and noted there is always a layer of truth in every kayfabe, make-believe storytelling.
