Releases, or more specifically, budget cuts, do stink. In the world of professional wrestling, they’re more than just individuals getting axed from their roles. And especially if someone’s an on-screen personality. WWE’s poster-girl, Becky Lynch, recently addressed the release of Kevin Patrick. More than just being co-workers, Lynch and Patrick were compatriots, as they hailed from Ireland.

Back in late January, it was revealed that the former Raw commentator had been fired. That ensued a daunting smudge upon the viewers as well as Big Time Becks. Speaking on The Ringer Wrestling Podcast, Lynch called it heartbreaking. Moreover, The Man painted Kevin in a way that he actually was, an earnest being eager to hone his art.

She disclosed that Patrick used to voluntarily approach WWE Superstars to know what they wanted him to talk about. By the sound of it, Becky Lynch felt like she lost a close one, whom she considered a brother. Patrick, who accompanied Corey Graves during most of his tenure as a commentator, was under pedantic scrutiny after he reportedly failed to impress higher-ups.

It was heart-breaking, we all loved him. We loved him, I love him. He's great. He was always working so hard.

As a result, just days before the last SmackDown leading up to the Royal Rumble, Kevin was replaced by Michael Cole. And shortly after this change, KP lot his job at WWE. However, it did not take long for him to land a role as the lead host of MLS 360 on Apple TV. That must’ve felt good for the Irish commentator.

How Becky Lynch revitalized Bianca Belair’s doomed stock?

There have been few women who managed to catch Becky Lynch in terms of her stardom. Not only has she won the women’s title on 6 different occasions, Lynch has proved why she’s a champ at heart. In an excerpt from her book, Becky Lynch: Not Your Average Average Girl, she cited an instance that capsized the entire landscape of the women’s division.

As the fans know, upon her triumphant return at SummerSlam in 2021, she squashed Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Initially a feel-good moment, turned into a heart wrenching for Becky once she spotted Belair crying backstage after that 26-second-loss.

The EST thought that her momentum and whatever she had built was snatched away from her in such a hasty manner. Lynch vowed to repay Bianca with interest and that’s how it lead to a singles match between the two at WrestleMania 38. And there, The EST trumped The Man in front of over 70,000 fans in attendance at the AT&T stadium.
