In 2018, one name that gradually rose to the top of WWE was Ronda Rousey. The Baddest Woman on the Planet expeditiously achieved the epitome by winning the Women’s Championship after a few months of her debut. However, in the second run of the former UFC star, it felt like she had lost the spark. WWE’s superstar, Becky Lynch, commented on how WWE mishandled the superstar.
In her appearance on the MMA Hour, The Man claimed that Ronda Rousey couldn’t wrestle. Big Time Becks added that everyone had a feeling that the Baddest Woman on the Planet might wrestle in WWE. However, that was not the case. She elucidated her statement by saying that professional wrestling is a craft, and to hone that craft, you need to be diligent about it.
I mean this with respect, but she couldn't wrestle. Like, what we do isn't just something that you can have one good match and then, okay, yeah, I'm off to races. It's a craft and you have to learn your craft. And you have to be diligent about learning your craft.Becky Lynch on the MMA Hour
In her second run, the former UFC champion quickly settled into the main event scene. Her storylines felt good initially. However, after some time, it became more monotonous. Lynch also accepted the fact that the 37-year-old had a solid debut, although WWE failed to capitalize on the momentum.
The Man and the Baddest Woman were rivals during their time, but regardless of that, they never faced each other in the ring one-on-one. Big Time Becks was the first person in WWE to pin Ronda in a match. As of now, the UFC Hall of Famer has been out of the WWE picture. Also, she has been open about her time in WWE and has made a lot of allegations against WWE and Vince McMahon lately.
Eric Bischoff believes Ronda Rousey was miscast in WWE
Ronda Rousey is going to publish her book ‘Our Fight’ soon. Moreover, her controversial statements have been in the headlines lately. The Baddest Woman on the Planet bid adieu to WWE at SummerSlam in 2023 and has not shown any interest in coming back. Recently, Eric Bischoff talked about Rousey on his podcast.
Speaking on 83 Weeks, Bischoff stated that when WWE brought Ronda onto the scene, they should have treated her like a heel rather than making her a babyface. Eric elucidated his statement by saying that the Rowdy One was a natural heel, and it would have lifted her more in WWE. In essence, he added that he never felt like the former women’s champion was working for passion.
So number one, she was miscast and I never really felt like she really wanted to be there. I always had this feeling. It doesn’t mean I’m right about it, but it was just my feeling that she was in it for the payday.Eric Bischoff on Ronda Rousey
Her book is going to be released in April, which certainly has the fans’ attention. Only time will tell how things are going to go for the former women’s champion from here on out.
