The Role Model had returned to the WWE after a year at the SummerSlam, when Bianca Belair’s match against Becky Lynch had concluded. Thereafter, the DAMAGE CTRL faced the team of Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss at the Clash at the Castle, where the Belair’s team was defeated.

When Bayley returned at SummerSlam, it seemed that she had resumed her rivalry with Bianca Belair, whom she was slated to face at the MITB Live event last year but Bayley was sidelined due to injury and thereafter she returned after a year at the SummerSlam. Before being injured the The Role Model was involved in feud with Bianca Belair and had lost to Belair at the WrestleMania Backlash and Hell in a Cell for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

During their feud Bayley and Belair had competed in an Obstacle Challenge on SmackDown during which both had to go through against hurdles and at one point carry a member of the alpha academy. Though Bayley had to carry Chad Gable, Belair was made to carry 330-pound Otis. Bianca Belair shared the experience of the Obstacle challenge in a recent interview with Inside the Ropes, where she spoke about working with Otis.
