Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 to a thunderous reaction from the WWE Universe. His comeback was kept concealed, as only a small number of wrestlers were aware backstage. Recently, it was revealed that the first person he had met from the roster was Bianca Belair.
During the SummerSlam press conference, the American Nightmare detailed their interaction. It was during WrestleMania 38 when the EST had just finished her match with Becky Lynch, defeating her for the RAW Women’s Championship. A picture of the two before Cody’s entrance went viral, which prompted a question from one of the journalists.
“I feel like I’ll forever have this moment with her because that was the first person on the roster that I had that I communicated with,” said the second-generation superstar. Furthermore, Cody Rhodes claimed that Bianca Belair was the “perfect” individual to meet, as he wanted to bring his standards to the company.
Cody Rhodes then talked about how he was received in the locker room. Despite his initial concerns, he was well endorsed by everyone on the main roster. “This locker room didn’t have to accept me,” he added. Even more, he was glad that the 34-year-old was the first to welcome him back.
Cody Rhodes spoke about Brock Lesnar congratulating him after the match
Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes concluded their trilogy in a rubber match at SummerSlam. The American Nightmare emerged victorious after hitting his opponent with three consecutive Cross Rhodes. However, their post-match segment was talked about the most by everyone.
The Beast hugged the second-generation star and raised his arms in front of the Detroit crowd. This moment was unscripted, as revealed by Triple H during the press conference. During the same conference, the 38-year-old talked about what it meant to him. “I don’t think it’s dawned on me what a moment like that really means,” said Rhodes.
He mentioned that he has been consistently surprised by moments like this since his return to the WWE. Moreover, the former Intercontinental Champion believed that he felt there was a “bond by battle” in the final moment after their encounter. Fans are anticipating what’s next for Cody Rhodes as he moves a step closer to “finishing his story”.
