“Vince was like ‘ahhhh’ ” Bobby Lashley reveals how Vince McMahon REBUKED him on the question of joining UFC

The current United States Champion Bobby Lashley is on a roll as he is defending his US title week after week. First he successfully defended his title against Ciampa and would recently defeat AJ Styles to retain his title. While Lashley continues to dominate in WWE, it is a worldwide known fact that Bobby Lashley has wrestled around the world and dominated each promotion he has worked with.

Lashley made his WWE debut in 2005, and also won the U.S. Championship before being drafted to the rebranded ECW. He then became ECW Champion twice, becoming the first Afro-American to hold the title. Lashley would then leave the company in 2008 to pursue his MMA career. Lashley would then have a series of successful MMA bouts as he holds a total record of 15-2, fighting for promotions like Strikeforce and Bellator MMA.

Bobby Lashley reveals that Vince McMahon refused him to fight in UFC

Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley had a successful MMA career with a total record of 15-2 before returning back to WWE.

But only a few people know that Lashley was all ready to compete in Dana White’s MMA promotion UFC. In a recent interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross, Lashley revealed that he had an ardent desire to step inside the Octagon. Lashley said – “It’s still in me. I saw the last UFC event where Vince and Stephanie were sitting ringside.

I was in the stands and texting Vince, ”can I get in there?” And he was like ”ahhhhh”.” While superstars like Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey and Riddle who have competed in UFC , it is still unclear why Vince stopped Lashley from going in there. May be it wasn’t the best place to ask the question. But now with the change in power, can Lashley again raise the demand with the new creatives?

Well, with his current title run it is uncertain if he would do that. Also, he recently expressed his desire to face Gunther in a match. Gunther is the current Intercontinental Champion, and it would be interesting to see whether these two hot heads can collide in future.

With Clash at The Castle approaching in a few this seems unlikely for the September PLE but both superstars have a pretty decent chance to face each other at the Survivor Series. Would you like to see a match between the two? or you would want to see Lashley in the UFC? Tell us in the comments below.
