CM Punk shocked the WWE Universe with his return at Survivor Series. After signing to AEW earlier, nobody expected the former WWE Champion’s return. Yet he came back to the company after almost ten long years. WWE has yet to make any plans for the Best in the World. However, former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley recently pinned his thoughts on Punk’s return.
In a recent interview with WrestlingNews.co, The Almighty pinned his thoughts when asked about Punk’s return. Initially, he mentioned he wasn’t aware that CM Punk would show up. He added how some people backstage reacted to his arrival. Later, he said WWE needs to make CM Punk work for the big shots, indirectly pointing out Cody Rhodes’ 2023 win.
I understand he (CM Punk) has a big name, he's coming back. And he's gonna do some big numbers, but I hope they (WWE) make him kind of work for some of the stuff. I hope he's not one of the people that 'oh okay, he comes back, gonna win the Rumble, we're gonna do this, we're gonna do that.'Bobby Lashley on CM PUNK
Certainly, Bobby Lashley made his point that everyone should get an equal chance in the locker room, and everybody needs to work for it. It is no new thing for WWE to bring WWE Legends on exclusive contracts and hand them several opportunities. However, the ideal plan for CM Punk looks pretty clear, as there are backstage rumors regarding Punk’s involvement in the Royal Rumble.

CM Punk may sign a Raw exclusive contract next week
It’s been two weeks since the Best in the World made headlines with his WWE return. However, the former WWE Champion is yet to be assigned exclusively to a brand. Since Adam Pearce failed to sign Randy Orton for a Raw contract, he has set his eyes on bringing CM Punk to the red brand.
On the recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Pearce interacted with Seth Rollins about his announcement to bring CM Punk to the red brand. Unfortunately, Seth Rollins showed no interest, eventually passing negative comments on Punk.
The red brand has notable superstars, including Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and more. With CM Punk’s addition, the red brand will give a similar competition to Friday Night SmackDown, which is already stacked with high-profile superstars.
