WWE removed multiple superstars from their contract during the covid 19 pandemic and Bray Wyatt was one of them. The company had major budget cuts and thus released multiple superstars. Now, under Triple H’s creative control, multiple superstars are back to the wrestling business.
WWE teased the WWE Universe at an extreme level for Bray Wyatt’s return. The company started dropping hints of a massive return almost a month before Extreme Rules took place. Extreme Rules was an enthralling event and Bray Wyatt’s return was one of the big reasons for the same.
However, Wyatt’s release left the fans with the question ‘Why was Bray Wyatt released despite having a great career?’ The answer for this is now out for the public. Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that Bray was being paid $4 million per year for his appearances (which was one of the highest in the company).

Ringside news also revealed that Bray was always inconsistent with his bookings and was out for recovery and other medical causes. They called him a “money maker” at his contract level. They said this, “based on what formula since he wasn’t part of the company’s return to live events?“
Another reason that came to light was that “He killed babyface Rollins and babyface Miz and there are analytics that document this. Plus, the push went to his head and he thought he was a modern day Undertaker. Except once Taker got on top, he started making any other top star he worked with. Bray doesn’t know how to do that and the gimmick doesn’t lend to it.“
Whatever the exact reason may be, the WWE management haven’t revealed the same officially. Nonetheless, the WWE Universe is elated at his return. There was a massive response at the white rabbit and the qr codes hints revealed by the company before Bray Wyatt actually returned.
