Charlotte Flair is currently out of action, but it has been reported that she will return to the WWE soon, most likely this year. Flair has been absent since May of this year, and her last outing was at the WrestleMania Backlash, where she lost to Ronda Rousey in an I Quit Match.
Flair also participated in in this year’s Royal Rumble as a Champion and was on the verge of winning the contest as she was the last one to be eliminated by Ronda Rousey. Flair has almost achieved everything in the company. She has been an inspiration to many, with Former MMA Star Valerie Loureda calling Flair as her inspiration to pursue a pro wrestling career.
Recently during an interview with Swerve Strickland on his “Swerve City Podcast”, Britt Baker spoke about how she has been compared to Charlotte Flair. Baker stated that it definitely feels cool to have been compared to one of the best wrestlers of all time.
Baker also recalled an encounter with Charlotte Flair in which Flair gave her wise counsel on the pro wrestling career. She claimed that Flair advised her to be herself and not to worry about the narrative that her fans write about her or what they think is genuine because she is the one who is aware of how hard she works. Baker said Flair’s guidance was excellent and expressed a desire to wrestle her.
“I do get compared to Charlotte all the time on Twitter, which to me I’m like, ‘Cool, one of the best wrestlers of all time… She has given me so much advice in ways just to like get through this…. And she’s been fantastic to me. I would love to wrestle her.”

Charlotte Flair spoke about her inspiration to pursue a career in Pro Wrestling
Last year, during an appearance on the Out of Character Podcast with Ryan Satin, Charlotte Flair spoke about how she got into the pro wrestling industry. Flair said that when she was younger and visited the WWE, she would frequently wonder whether she would be sporting boots or an attire similar to that worn by the stunning WWE divas. Flair said that while it would seem like she always intended to work in professional wrestling, that wasn’t the case.
Charlotte Flair cited her late younger brother Reid as an influence on her decision to pursue a career in professional wrestling. She claimed that her brother Reid, thought that she would be an amazing wrestler and urged her to join the professional wrestling industry. Flair stated that Reid would persuade her to watch out for Natalya and call her a legit wrestler.
“I was like 21 or 22 at this time. I walked past her and was like, ‘Gosh. She’s so glamorous. What’s it like to wear boots like that? Or an outfit like that?’.…. I have a story, and I didn’t care about wrestling. It was because of my brother.…My little brother was like, ‘Dude, yes, you have to do this. We can do it together…. Reid was always like, ‘You gotta watch Natalya. You gotta watch Natalya. She’s a legit wrestler.”
A few years later, Flair competed in a singles match for the NXT Women’s Championship against Natalya. a match that is recognized as one of the top women’s matches in NXT history and that propelled Charlotte Flair to the world of professional wrestling.
She won her first championship in WWE, the NXT Women’s Championship, by defeating Natalya. Sadly, Flair’s brother Reid wasn’t present to see all this as he passed away in 2013 due to a drug overdose, but Flair is living his dream now and honors her brother every time she wins a title in the WWE.
