Brock Lesnar is known for showing up few times in a year, this includes the Royal Rumble PLE. The Beast Incarnate has several achievements to his name, which includes winning the Rumble twice. In a recent interview with Signed by Superstars, Matt Riddle detailed how Lesnar used his influence to win the 2022 edition.
Riddle, once a prominent figure as one half of the RKBro duo with Randy Orton, faced a downturn in his career following Orton’s injury. According to the former US Champion, his planned Rumble victory had to be changed due to Lesnar intervening at the last moment. Riddle believed he had the momentum and potential to secure a significant victory. There were also some reports and speculations that The Original Bro was going to win the Rumble in 2022.
However, the scripted narrative took an unexpected turn when Bobby Lashley defeated Lesnar with interference from Roman Reigns. Paul Heyman, the advocate of The Beast also betrayed him. The Beast Incarnate, deviating from the planned script, insisted on winning the match. Despite Riddle’s planned victory being snatched from him, he claims that no one stepped up for him. The changed plan was heavily criticized by many fans, who claimed it to be the worst Rumble match in years.
I was gonna win the (Royal) Rumble and everything else and then what was it? Bobby Lashley beat Brock Lesnar because somebody came in and hit him with the belt or what have you. Then Brock came in, didn’t wanna do business with everybody, said he was winning, and then he won, and then none of the producers… nobody stood up to him and they let him do it. I didn’t either.Matt Riddle during an interview with Signed by Superstars
The former UFC star also had quite a beef with legends like Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, who initially refused to work with him. WWE released The Original Bro last year in September. Controversies surrounding Riddle’s involvement in various matters eventually led to his departure from the company. He recently made his debut in NJPW .
When could Brock Lesnar be making his return?
The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar, was last seen at Summerslam 2023. He lost to Cody Rhodes in what seemed like a passing of the torch moment. The former WWE Champion has been on hiatus following that event. There are reports suggesting that Lesnar could make a return during the Rumble match. Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of The Beast to the ring.
Reports state that the legend is gearing up for a return during the Royal Rumble match, which would lead to a WrestleMania match. Enthusiastic fans are actively speculating about what he can unleash and what moments he could bring to the table. The star-studded Rumble has the potential to become the best in years if the 46-year-old returns.
The WWE Universe might get some great face-offs with some of their favorites and The Beast. The list includes the likes of CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Gunther. Fans could finally get their dream match of Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 40, with some speculating that the buildup could commence at the Royal Rumble.
