Brock Lesnar and Dominik Mysterio
Brock Lesnar defended the WWE Championship against Rey Mysterio in a No Holds Barred match at Survivor Series in 2019. Even though Rey didn’t walk away with the belt, the battle had a lot of people talking.
Dominik Mysterio, Rey’s son, decided to interfere in the bout and hit Brock Lesnar with a double 619, prompting Rey to say on the Start Today podcast that WWE began to notice Dominik after the match.
He said, “This is just my assumption, but based on what happened that night, that’s when the interest really started to flow with WWE. We knew you [Dominik] wanted to end up at the Performance Center to start training, but everything started to evolve after that night.”
During the match, Dominik Mysterio made quite an impression, and he said that Brock Lesnar was taken aback by his performance.
He continued, “After I got my ass beat, I went to say thank you to every. I remember Brock telling me that he was surprised because I knew more than he thought I was going to. With how I placed myself and things I would do to feed into things. I don’t think they were expecting me to know what I was doing. That was really cool right off the bat.”

How did Brock Lesnar vs Mysterios feud start?
Rey Mysterio and Brock Lesnar had been feuding since September before to Survivor Series. Lesnar attacked both Rey and his son on a WWE Raw program. Mysterio assaulted Lesnar shortly after that. This happened shortly after ‘The Beast’ won the WWE championship by defeating Kofi Kingston.
However, Brock Lesnar felt he wanted to go after Rey Mysterio, so he left SmackDown and joined Raw to start a new feud. Their clash at Survivor Series was their first official match. He moved on to new rivalries and storylines after defeating Mysterio at this event.
