WWE veteran reveals popular music artist Bad Bunny to be the REASON for his astounding WWE return

WWE veteran Carlito recently made his return to the company full-time after years. He joined Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar to defeat Bobby Lashley and Street Profits at Fastlane. However, this was not the first time the 44-year-old made an appearance this year. Carlito returned at Backlash to help Bad Bunny in his match against Damian Priest, which was taking place in Puerto Rico.
It turns out that Bad Bunny was the reason behind Carlito’s astounding WWE return. While speaking on the Ringer Wrestling Show, the Caribbean Cool revealed, “Bad Bunny is a fan. I think he was a fan of mine growing up. One of his ideas was he thought it’d be a great idea for me to be a part of it. You know, of course, being in Puerto Rico, you know, it just made perfect sense.”
Upon his return, Carlito received one of the loudest reactions of the year, indicating a surge in his popularity during his absence from WWE. Global star Bad Bunny further boosted Carlito’s status with his endorsement. Multiple sources reported that WWE signed Carlito to a full-time contract after his appearance at Backlash.
However, it was only at Fastlane that he returned to WWE programming again. He will be a regular on SmackDown moving forward and is currently working with Rey Mysterio and the LWO to take on Bobby Lashley and Street Profits. Therefore, fans are excited to see what’s in store for the 44-year-old.
Damian Priest comments on his match against Bad Bunny
Needless to say, the Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest match at Backlash 2023 exceeded everyone’s expectations. It was indeed one of the remarkable highlights of the night. This was also one of the best performances of Bunny’s short WWE career. Similarly, the match is also very highly ranked by Damian Priest, who rose in the ranks in WWE despite being on the losing side.
While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Damian Priest said, “I think everyone should always be proud and should always represent, no matter where they come from, no matter where their blood lies. That’s something that we should all be proud of and that — win or lose — that moment was bigger than any one match. And by far, I don’t think I could ever be prouder of a moment.”
Priest also said that he takes pride in being a part of the match, as it helped put Puerto Ricans on display and celebrated the past wrestlers from the island. The match also featured other Puerto Ricans, apart from Priest and Bad Bunny. WWE veterans like Savio Vega and Carlito came out with a thunderous reaction to help Bad Bunny.
