“I should be Raw Women’s Champion”- Carmella says that she deserves to be the RAW Women’s Champion after beating Bianca Belair via count out on RAW

Carmella has been chasing the Women’s Championship since her debut and she has succeeded in winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship 1 time in her career, she had won it when she cashed in her MITB contract after 287 days on an edition of SmackDown. She had defeated Charlotte Flair to win the Women’s Championship for the first time in her career. Carmella defended her title on several occasions against Flair and Asuka but ultimately lost it at SummerSlam 2018, ending her reign of 131 days.
Carmella has also been a 1-time Tag Team Champion. She forged an alliance with Queen Zelina in November 2021, and the two of them beat Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. They held the title for 127 days before losing it to Sasha Banks and Naomi at WrestleMania on night 2. The match was a Fatal Four Way match and also included the teams of Shayna Baszler and Natalya, as well as the team of Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan. The following night on RAW, Queen Zelina attacked “The Staten Island Queen” and blamed her for the loss, thereby dissolving their association.

Carmella was defeated by Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship at MITB
Rhea Ripley was supposed to face Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship at MITB Live event, but was sidelined due to an injury. Thereafter Carmella seized the Opportunity and became the no.1 contender for the RAW Women’s Championship at the Money in the Bank Live event.
At the MITB Live event, Bianca escaped Carmella as she rushed at her. Carmella then struck Bianca with a superkick and attempted to pin her, but her attempts were futile. “The EST of WWE” finally gave Mella the Kiss of Death and retained the RAW Women’s Championship. Carmella returned after the match and assaulted Bianca as she celebrated her title win on the turnbuckle. The Following week on RAW Carmella teamed up with Natalya for a Tag Team match against Belair and Liv Morgan, but both were defeated.
This week on RAW, Carmella had a rematch for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship. During the match Carmella poked into Bianca’s eye and was blinded at the Ringside. Belair managed to push Carmella into the ring but Becky lynch interfered and argued with Bianca, which distracted her, thus ending the match in a count out. “The Staten Island Queen” defeated Belair via count out. Bianca Belair still has the championship since the winner was only allowed to win by submission or pinfall.
Carmella stated in a backstage interview following her triumph that she had defeated Bianca Belair and had added her to the list of amazing women she has vanquished. Carmella stated that she gave an outstanding performance, that she is tired of people focusing on her appearance, and that she aspires to be the best woman in this category. Carmella stated that she possesses all of the necessary talents to be the finest female wrestler. Carmella concluded by saying that she deserves to be the RAW Women’s Champion after her today’s performance against Belair.
“I beat Bianca Belair. She was added to the list of everyone that I’ve defeated because I have a long list of amazing women that I beat, okay? I went out there and put on a hell of a performance. Did you see my match? Give me my damn flower Sarah, I deserve it. Because I am sick and tired of everyone talking about my looks. I’m here to be in the conversation. I’m here to be the top woman of this division. I am here to do it all. I can have the looks, I can have the smart, I can have the matches, I can talk on the microphone, what can’t I do? I’m sick and tired of everyone just talking about my looks. I went out there and I proved why I should be Raw Women’s Champion. Because Mella is? Money. That’s right, baby.”
It hasn’t been decided as of yet whether who will face Bianca Belair at SummerSlam. SummerSlam will take place on July 30th at Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee.
