Just days before the Elimination Chamber, Gunther defends his Intercontinental Championship against Jey Uso on Raw. However, The Ring General had to endure a mental setback last night after he lost to Chad Gable, although via disqualification. The IC title was on the line but obviously, that got fans all the more excited for the match. However, it could be a major kick in the teeth for Gunther, who’s destined to battle a laser-focused Jey Uso on Raw.
Gable is the same man who shattered the Austrian’s undefeated streak on the main roster once he ousted Gunther via count-out back in August. That ensued a rivalry between the two, and they went on to have a trilogy. On the September 4th edition of Raw, Master Gable almost upstaged the Imperium supremo. However, Gunther’s wizardry proved too much for the ex-Olympian to combat.

Fans thought that Chad would get his moment, but on a bigger stage, presumably at WrestleMania. Those plans were seemingly dropped, as Gunther was being honed to battle Brock Lesnar at The Showcase of the Immortals. But with Lesnar’s exclusion owing to his alleged involvement in the Vince McMahon lawsuit, WWE might pivot to their original plans.
Chad Gable has been off-color lately. However, he has what it takes to get back to winning ways. Tonight, the Alpha Academy leader will face Ivar. Their previous meeting saw the latter beat Gable after Valhalla‘s eerie nuances plagued Chad. But this could be the opening Gable needs. His gigantic win over Ivar could open the floodgates, and that’s exactly what he needs to dream big and potentially uproot Gunther.
Is Jey Uso the one to end Gunther’s title reign?
This week on Raw, Gunther’s record-breaking title reign could be doomed. Jey Uso, who’s been a mainstay on the red brand for months, poses a viable threat to the reigning IC Champion. Uso has yet to win a singles strap in WWE.

And what better way to kick things off than by capturing the working man’s title? A few months ago, it was reported that Jey was penciled in to face his twin brother Jimmy at WrestleMania. Those plans have not made it to television as of late.
However, if things haven’t been scrapped, Jimmy Uso might crash Jey’s party on Raw. And it would then be obvious what The Usos would be doing in Philadelphia. As for Gunther, he would hope to avoid any sort of catastrophe and retain his gold. However, his WrestleMania opponent is a matter of discord.
