The current United States Champion, Rey Mysterio, went into sav*ge mode as he did the unthinkable. The legendary luchador and Logan Paul will fight for the United States Championship at Crown Jewel. But before that, they came face-to-face for the weigh-in on the go-home edition of the show.

Mysterio and Paul have been involved in a war of words for the past few weeks when the social media megastar challenged the champion after he beat Dillon Danis in an influencer boxing event at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. The United States Champion accepted the challenge on next week’s edition of SmackDown.

Logan insulted the champion, saying he had already beaten one deadbeat dad and had no problem beating another. This did not sit well with Rey, as he attacked the 28-year-old with a microphone during their weigh-in, just like Dillon Danis did when he and Logan came face-to-face. Dillon threw the microphone at Logan, which left a cut on his face.

The two superstars will fight in a singles match for the United States Title at Crown Jewel. It will be interesting to see whether the legendary luchador retains his title. If Logan wins, it will be his first major title win in WWE.

Rey Mysterio reveals when he plans to retire

Rey Mysterio is one of the original ruthless aggression era superstars still in the company. But unfortunately, it looks like his wrestling days are numbered as he continues to struggle with knee injuries.

He recently said on the Ariel Helwani podcast that he is already 48 years old and does not have much fuel left in his tank. He said that he has two years at most before he wraps up his career. However, he is grateful that after 20 years he is still able to feel that connection with the fans. Therefore, Rey Mysterio does not have much time left in WWE.

It will be sad for many fans when Rey retires, but Rey will have a special place in wrestling fans’ hearts. He expressed his desire to wrestle his final match against his son, Dominik Mysterio. But Rey has a different challenge to worry about right now, Logan Paul when they meet at Crown Jewel.
