Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr popularly known as Charlotte Flair is a Former NXT Women’s Champion who currently works on Smackdown for WWE. Charlotte Flair being the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was always destined to pursue a career in wrestling. Charlotte signed for WWE IN 2012 under the developmental contract. The Queen made her debut in 2013 on an episode of NXT where she defeated Bayley to kick start her career WWE. In early 2014 Charlotte defeated Natalya to win the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time in her career, a title which she would hold onto for 278 days before dropping it to Sasha Banks in a fatal 4 way match.

Charlotte Flair made her main roster debut alongside Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks which by Stephanie McMahon was termed as the start of ‘Women’s Revolution’. After her feud with Nikki Bella Charlotte Flair won the Divas Championship for the first time. At Wrestlemania 32 when Flair was to defend her title against Sasha Banks and Bayley WWE decided to replace Divas Championship with a new WWE Women’s Championship. Charlotte Flair became the inaugural champion after a defeating banks and lynch.

Charlotte Flair is uncertain about her future with WWE

Since winning her first women’s championship Charlotte Flair hasn’t looked back and has managed to become a 13 time WWE Women’s Champion and also won WWE Women’s Tag Team title once making her a Grand Slam Champion. Charlotte Flair also headlined Wrestlemania along with Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey. Reah Ripley who is a former WWE Raw Women’s Champion was currently involved in a feud with Charlotte Flair for Ripley’s title. Charlotte Flair sat down for an interview with Sports Illustrated and spoke about her role in making Ripley a star :

“I’m thankful that Rhea and I are now getting a platform to tell our story,” said Flair. “I am disappointed with how our story played out in NXT. I loved our match at WrestleMania at the PC. I’ll talk about the match for years to come. This is now a chance to tell our story.”

“I need to bring my best to do what needs to be done for this story,” said Flair. “Rhea needs to get the best Charlotte Flair and Charlotte Flair needs to get the best Rhea so she can take the ball and run with it, be the future, make a name for herself, and do what she’s meant to do.

“I feel a personal responsibility to make sure she is a star. When I was in her spot, I remember how fragile and nervous and uncomfortable I was. I remember seeing Nikki Bella walking out and thinking, ‘She is a such a star.’ When I held the Divas championship, I felt like it owned me. I wish someone would have say, ‘Come at me and prove to me who you are.’ I want to do that for Rhea. I keep hearing she’s the future, so let’s go out there and see it.”

Since this interview The Queen Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley wrestled a trilogy of matches which included a DQ finish at Hell in a Cell. Charlotte Flair defeated Ripley at money in the bank. Rhea Ripley is currently working with Finn Balor and Damien Priest as Judgement Day. Charlotte Flair was recently reported to be leaving the company.
