WWE’s Alpha Woman Charlotte Flair was recently taken off the road owing to a heinous knee injury she sustained on SmackDown a few weeks ago. She’s completely down and out, and it might be her longest time away from in-ring competition. However, that didn’t preclude her from bestowing her support on her husband, Andrade El Edolo. The Queen was spotted limping on crutches in Arena Mexico last night.

As noted, Andrade recently returned to the Mexico-based promotion CMLL on December 15 for the first time in many years. She was set to be accompanied by CJ Perry; however, she caught an infection in her finger, which was exacerbated in a flash, and it could’ve been detrimental to her health. Perry even shared a graphic image of her abominable wound on social media, which is not for the faint-hearted.

Coming back to Charlotte, she’s expected to be out of action for at least nine months, as revealed by WWE. Moreover, as per PWInsider, the 14-time Women’s Champion is slated to undergo surgery in early January. If the time frame WWE has assumed for The Queen is to be believed, she’d not return anytime before October 2024. Up until her match against Asuka, which caused her a torn ACL, the year was a memorable one for Flair.

She ushered in 2023 as the SmackDown Women’s Champion by beating Ronda Rousey on the last SmackDown of 2022. Moreover, Charlotte Flair had one of the best women’s matches in history when she went down against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. After getting drafted to SmackDown, she butted heads with The Damage CTRL, leading her to numerous matches against the reigning Women’s Champion, Iyo Sky.

How would Charlotte Flair’s injury affect WrestleMania plans?

It appeared as if WWE had big plans for Charlotte heading into next year’s WrestleMania. Though she wasn’t being considered for a title bout, the creative reportedly had plans to have Charlotte Flair feud with Bianca Belair.

It would’ve been a major selling point for WrestleMania 40 in regards to the women’s division. Belair has already stated that Charlotte is the one she’d love to battle at The Grandest Stage of them all.

However, despite internal murmurings, it would not happen, at least this year. That changes the entire complexion and leaves the field wide open. As The EST said recently, it’s a unique opportunity for a budding superstar like Michin to step up and try to fill in those shoes in place of Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania.
