Christian Cage in AEW
Former WWE Superstar Christian Cage is regarded as one of the most Underrated wrestlers of all time. Christian Cage has a great in-ring ability and had a good grasp on the in-ring psychology just as his good friend Edge. He certainly could read his opponents moves very well and managed to counter them very well. Christian is also best known to make his opponents better, and his match against Samoa Joe at TNA Impact was a proof of his selflessness. He also has strong mic abilities, which are evident in his humorous skits and promos during his time as Edge’s tag team partner, and excelled at playing both the babyface and the heel.
Christian has headlined many Pay per view events in both WWE and TNA. Cage has Undoubtedly has had an illustrious career as a wrestler, he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship twice in his career and has won the Impact World Championship once during his time in TNA. Many believe that Christian Cage deserved a push just like his friend Edge and though he received a push and became a world heavyweight Champion, it was as if WWE waited for Edge to retire to give cage a push. He didn’t have a long run as a WWE World Heavyweight champion and many have widely criticized his booking in WWE during his World Championship reign.

Why did Christian Cage leave WWE in 2021?
Christian Cage had announced his in-ring retirement in 2014 due to concussion related issues and thereafter made sporadic appearances in the company, while also hosting a talk show with Edge, which was produced by WWE. He was then cleared to wrestle in 2020 and wrestled his first match in over six years against Randy Orton, which he lost and had a brief rivalry with Randy Orton. He then returned at Royal Rumble 2021 as a surprise entrant and his best friend Edge who was also a part of the match hugged him when he entered the Royal Rumble Match, what was termed to be a moment of the year.
Edge won the Rumble second time by last eliminating Orton. Christian was thereafter released from the company. It was reported that Christian wanted to wrestle full time but WWE wanted him to be a part timer, also he wasn’t happy with the WWE creative and decided to part ways with the company. Christian Cage has since joined the AEW, where he is a regular performer and is a heel at present on the promotion.
Nevertheless, Cage has had an amazing career as a wrestler and deserved much more in the WWE. Back in 2021, during an edition of the Kurt Angle Podcast, Angle talked about Christian Cage and called him as one of the underrated performers of all time. Angle said that Cage should have already been in the WWE Hall of Fame and someday he surely will be inducted in it. Angle said that he feels Christian is underappreciated wrestler of all time.
“Christian is one of the most underrated professional wrestlers of all time. This guy should actually already be in the Hall of Fame. That’s how good he was, and I don’t know, maybe someday he will be. I just think he has been underappreciated.”
Cage has been feuding with Jungle Boy in the AEW and is having a great time as a heel.
