“Enjoy your last week”- Ciampa sends a warning to current United States Champion Bobby Lashley ahead of their match next week

Ciampa is one most talented wrestler on the main roster currently in WWE. Ciampa was trained by Killer Kowalski in 2005 after which he wrestled at some independent promotions in Massachusetts. He made his WWE debut in 2005 on and episode of SmackDown, where he appeared as Muhammad Hassan’s Lawyer and confronted the Undertaker, only to get choke slammed by him. Ciampa then wrestled on WWE’s lesser-known shows Velocity and Heat and participated in dark matches until 2007.
Ciampa then signed a developmental deal with WWE and assigned to the OVW. He wrestled on the territory for 7 months and was released, after which he wrestled around the independent circuit. Thereafter he joined the Ring of Honor, where he competed in the ROH World Championship tournament. He reached the semi finals but was eliminated by Adam Cole. Ciampa returned to WWE in 2015 and started performing on the NXT Brand.
Ciampa won the NXT Championship for the first time in July 2018
In July 2018, on an edition of NXT, Ciampa competed in a match against Aleister Black for the NXT Championship. He defeated Black to win the NXT Championship for the first time in his career. This was one of the major wins for Ciampa in the company. Johnny Gargano had interfered in the bout and accidently hit Aleister with the title. He held the title for 238 days before vacating it due to neck injury issues, which required a surgery. He won the NXT Championship for the second time in September 2021 and held it for 112 days before being defeated by Bron Breakker.
Ciampa made his main roster debut in April 2022 and has aligned himself with the Miz thereafter. On August 1st edition of RAW, he became the no. 1 contender for the WWE US Championship and will face Bobby Lashley on the next week of RAW. He came on RAW Talk after the show and just said “Earned,” went on to say that he defeated Dolph, Chad, and AJ to win the match.
He stated that all he needed was a chance, which he now has. When asked about Bobby claiming he won’t hesitate to put the US Championship on line against anyone, Ciampa said that he isn’t anyone and that he is the greatest sports entertainer of all time. Ciampa continued by telling Bobby Lashley that he should enjoy his final week with the belt since he would be the next US Champion the following Monday.
“Earned. Dolph Ziggler, Chad Gable and AJ Styles [I beat them all]. I win,” Ciampa said. “I win. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – all I need is an opportunity. And my opportunity comes next week. Anyone – that’s what Bobby said, I heard what Bobby said. The problem is, I’m not anyone. I’m the greatest sports entertainer of all time. I am the blackheart, and the fact of the matter is, nobody makes a title more prestigious than the man you’re looking at. Bobby Lashley, enjoy your last week because as of next Monday, your new United States Champion.”
Ciampa is expected to get a push in the company as his mentor Triple H has now assumed the role of Head of Creative. He will face Lashley for the US Championship on August 8th edition of RAW.
