The stagnant controversy surrounding CM Punk over his backstage altercations has taken a brutal turn. Most of you might have been aware of the fact how Punk was involved in an ugly confrontation with The Elite. The post-show media scrum of All Out this year was where it all started.

Now, the latest update on CM Punk is haunting the AEW fans a lot. Per Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the higher-ups in Tony Khan’s promotion are discussing the future plans with him. However, that looks bleak as the two parties are negotiating on a contract buy-out with Punk. Also, most of the talents in AEW have opposed CM Punk’s stay in the company.

For the unverse, the backstage scenes after the All Out scrum were terrible. Punk had earlier accused The Elite and Colt Cabana with some disgraceful comments during the interview. Possibly growing up on everything, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega met CM Punk in a physical interaction.

Even the belief was that The Bucks and Omega knocked the door of Punk after the latter refused to open it. The tragic incident led to impose some strong actions on the talent involved and they all got suspended. MJF was involved in the investigation team for digging out the truth and they might’ve found out who the real culprit is.

Obviously, the things might have come wrong on Punk’s part and that’s why AEW is ready to buy-out his contract. Well, this should not be termed as much of a “surprise” considering the rebellious history CM Punk shares.

Technically, the AEW period for CM Punk lasted for just over a year. His personal feud with MJF was easily the best thing he did there. However, there was something repulsive between himself and the AEW World Championship. At first, he had to relinquish the title right away after capturing it at Double Or Nothing.

Next, he defeated Jon Moxley at All Out to grab the coveted gold for the second time in his career. That did zero avail for him as what happened after that is in history books now. Well, can we sense his AEW departure as a way to get him back in WWE or shall we consider that Punk is done with pro-wrestling?

Honestly, before Punk signed with AEW and was nearing the deal, WWE wasn’t worried about the same. They knew that this guy has been a headache for them in the past and they were happy to let him go. But, we always hear the term “never say never” in pro-wrestling and that’s what we can here also.
