On a night when he embarked on a new journey, CM Punk simply didn’t disappoint. Draped in his classic black trunks and flanked by a gargantuan MSG crowd, The Best in the World walked out to a deafening ovation last night. In what was his first WWE match since 2014, Punk locked horns with Dominik Mysterio. During the initial moments, the vociferous folks at The Garden let Punk know that he still had it.

Drawing serious inspiration from a record attendance at the World’s Most Famous Arena, The Second City Saint came out on top as he pinned Dominik after hitting a GTS. Rhea Ripley, who was ringside for her Dom-Dom, tried everything she could to avert the inevitable but failed.

At one point, Punk even made Mysterio tap out; however, Mami was able to distract the referee, which caused the match to continue. It wasn’t enough to save the day for “Dirty” Dom as he went down against the 45-year-old.

After the match, Punk cut an exhilarating promo, expressing his immense gratitude towards the fans. He counted everybody in for a ride that was just getting started. The Straight Edge Superstar emphasized his bucket list for 2024, and that’s to win the Royal Rumble match to headline WrestleMania.

But that’s not all for Punk this year. On December 30, The Voice of the Voiceless will once again ply his trade against Rey Mysterio‘s son. It will be interesting to see whether the Chicago-based wrestler makes it two in two.

When will CM Punk appear on WWE Raw?

Speaking of CM Punk’s return to WWE television, he’s slated to work a couple of Raw tapings before the Royal Rumble. The dates include the one on January 8 in Portland and the go-home show in New Orleans.

In his last appearance on the red brand a few weeks ago, he was confronted by Seth Rollins. The two men were engaged in a heated promo segment. Not mincing his words a bit, Rollins implicitly told Punk that he hated him.

After The Visionary berated The Best in the World, Punk only had one thing to say. He declared himself for the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match and conspicuously teased chasing Seth’s World Heavyweight title.
