AEW fired CM Punk after controversial backstage turmoil at All In 2023. Since then, rumors have been swirling around about his potential WWE return. In fact, both sides have put out subtle teases, with fans believing that the Second City Saint might be gearing up for a comeback. Recently, Punk dropped a photo seemingly hinting at being close to appearing in the WWE.
The 44-year-old posted a picture of his wrist tape with a mark of ‘X’ and blood spread all over it on his Instagram story. Obviously, the wrist tape is a major part of CM Punk’s in-ring attire. Therefore, many fans believed that this was a sign of an inevitable second run for the former WWE Champion.
Also, over the past week, he has uploaded screenshots of comics, which directly relate to the heavy rumors surrounding his return. Furthermore, the Chicago-born wrestler joked about having time until November during MMA commentary. However, his latest picture might be a way of celebrating “National Edge Day”.
As many might know, CM Punk incorporated his real-life persona into his in-ring character, even forming a faction called the Straight Edge Society in 2010. At this point, it is difficult to know whether The Voice of The Voiceless is playing around or if he’s struck a deal with the Stamford-based promotion.
At the moment, it seems that Survivor Series is the most likely time for CM Punk to make his impending return. After all, the event is going to be held in the Second City Saint’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Needless to say, it will be an interesting road to the premium live event.
CJ Perry sheds light on a reported backstage fight between Miro and CM Punk
The backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry at All In led to several conflicting reports online. One of the rumors suggested that the Second City Saint also picked a fight with Miro, better known as Rusev. However, the latter confirmed that the pair had a friendly exchange, debunking the claims online.

Recently, CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana, revealed that she believed the confrontation that included her husband was legitimate. While speaking with Haus of Wrestling, she detailed how Miro joked about the interaction. According to Lana, the former United States Champion was “selling the story” to her.
“I’m like, ‘You’re telling me that was a joke?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah. […] Oh, I forgot you take everything literal, CJ.’ So he finds it really funny that I believe everything,” she added. Needless to say, CM Punk and Miro were on good terms prior to the former’s imminent departure.
