The Second City Saint has been breaking records ever since he returned to WWE. CM Punk has just surpassed the record for YouTube views garnered by the video of the return of The Rock. Surpassing a whopping figure of 100k views, the return of the Best in the World stands at 7.2 million views, while the Rock’s return has 7.1 million views.

What also makes this achievement noteworthy is the duration within which it was achieved. The Best in the World’s return just took 3 weeks, while it has been 3 months since the $800 million-worth superstar, The Great One, graced the WWE Universe with his presence.

However, the occasion and nature of the venue are things that need to be considered. The Brahma Bull’s return was on the weekly show of Friday Night SmackDown. On the other hand, the return of Chicago’s own was at a live PLE Survivor Series. Moreover, the Great One has usually graced the WWE with his presence after brief intervals in relation to the long nine-year absence of Punk. Needless to say, both stars’ returns were genuine surprises.

While figures and stats always matter, both returns had their own magic. While The Rock returned to Hollywood, CM Punk has been making waves in the Stamford-based company. He recently signed with Monday Night Raw and has engaged in a heated confrontation with the Visionary, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. Time will tell if the Brahma Bull and the Best in the World are destined to cross paths once again or not.

CM Punk once again makes a controversial statement on social media

It has only been a few weeks since the Best in the World returned to WWE. However, it seems controversies have still not left him. He recently took to social media to comment on his and Ace Steel’s legal battle against All Elite Wrestling. Punk took to his Instagram story to share an artwork showing him, Steel, Jim Cornette, and their legal representative, Stephen P. New.

This reaction by the Second City Saint has caught the attention of several fans. Many fans of both WWE and AEW have expressed their distaste for Punk’s online activity. While the 45-year-old might have left the memories behind, it seems the wrestling world would still like him to stay aloof from the treacherous waters of controversy.

For those who don’t know, Punk was on the receiving end of a lot of backlash from the wrestling community after his AEW backstage brawl. While the professional wrestlers took sides, the fans were busy building speculations that still remain unsolved. However, leaving AEW did grant him some breathable space that he capitalized on through his return to WWE.
