CM Punk is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time when it comes to promo skills. In a single promo, he can sell a match, put over another wrestler, or talk bad about someone. This was one of the main reasons why he was still relevant during his seven-year hiatus from the industry. During his time in WWE, Punk had a lot of memorable feuds with the likes of John Cena, Jeff Hardy, The Undertaker, and Rey Mysterio.

Recently, on Instagram, the Lucha legend posted a collection of pictures wishing his daughter Aalyah a happy birthday. Fans also commented on the posts, wishing Rey Mysterio’s daughter a warm birthday. However, Punk also joined the list of well-wishers, as he commented on the post with, “happy biiiiiiiirthday.” This was an obvious throwback from Punk to the time when he was feuding with Rey Mysterio and interrupted Aalyah’s birthday celebration on SmackDown in 2010.

In the segment, CM Punk is accompanied by his Straight Edge Society, which consists of Luke Gallows and Serena Deeb, with Punk as their leader. The trio interrupted the Mysterio family’s celebration as Punk challenged Mysterio to a match at WrestleMania 26. He mockingly sang Happy Birthday to Aalyah as she stood behind her dad, scared.

This would agitate Rey to accept the challenge while Punk trash talked about Rey’s son, Dominik Mysterio, and his wife as well. The feud is remembered by fans to this day as both men had great chemistry while working together, and both superstars executed their roles to perfection. They had several matches in the WWE before Punk walked out of the company in January 2014.

The former AEW Champion has been in the professional wrestling industry for over two decades. Therefore, he has had the opportunity to work with numerous wrestlers, ranging from Eddie Guerrero to Ricky Starks. However, very few wrestlers are considered to be Punk’s arch-rivals when summing up his career. However, Samoa Joe is the name that comes out on top.

The two had a series of now-iconic moments in Ring of Honor when both were newcomers to the industry. They would both work for WWE at different points in time and, therefore, never wrestle on a big stage. However, when Punk returned from injury in June, he first faced Samoa Joe on the premiere episode of Collision as a part of a trio match.

The two would have a singles match on the subsequent episode, and now they are set to take their rivalry to the next level. They will face each other at All In in London, which is in front of over 80,000 fans. The two started by wrestling each other in bingo halls, which could hold only 800 people. Therefore, fans are now excited to see how the two men add another chapter to their iconic rivalry.
