CM Punk’s future at the AEW is uncertain as of yet, as there is no official report from the AEW headquarters that he has been fired from the company. He was suspended last month for instigating a backstage fight with Kenny Omega and Young Bucks.

The fight also involved CM Punk’s friend Ace Steel, and all of them involved in the fight were suspended, with Punk getting stripped off his AEW World Title. Punk had won the title by defeating Jon Moxley at the All out event, and it was his second reign as the World Champion, but it ended in just three days.

CM Punk was a major AEW star and had a great comeback to the world of pro wrestling, but it seemed as if he didn’t value the chance that was bestowed upon him. CM Punk’s exit from the WWE wasn’t as well documented as his AEW exit has been, but his WWE exit was also a controversial one.

With the Punk and AEW saga going on, there have been speculations about Punk joining the WWE again, and Ringside News has shed a light on that. According to a report by Ringside news the backstage people at the WWE are of the opinion that CM Punk is the poison.

“We’ve asked around about #CMPunk coming back to #WWE. We were told that “The only talk about CM Punk is among the talent, the writers, the producers, the TV production people and everyone thinks he is poison.”

CM Punk left the WWE in 2014, and his last outing was at the 2014 Royal Rumble. The reason for Punk’s departure was creative issues, and he was concerned about his health and injuries in the company. Thereafter, in 2019, Punk appeared on the Fox Sports 1 series WWE Backstage, where he worked as a contributor and analyst. Technically, Punk was under FOX’s contract rather than being directly under the contract with WWE, and so he accepted the offer.

Last year, during an appearance on the Pardon My Take Podcast, Triple H spoke about CM Punk’s possible return to the WWE. Triple H indicated that if Punk approaches him, he would definitely have a conversation with him. He mentioned Punk working on the FOX show and stated that the desire needed to be on both sides to make things happen.

“I don’t know if I can think of anybody in the business that if they called me, I would take their phone call whether in the business or whatever. And I would answer the phone. I think we would have a conversation……You know, again I’ll never say never, but the desire needs to be there at all sides just to make things happen.”
