The go-home episode of Monday Night Raw ended with an incredible promo from Cody Rhodes. As all superstars are gearing up for Crown Jewel, The American Nightmare went the extra step this week on Monday Night Raw to hype up his match against Damian Priest. Interestingly, Rhodes’ promo also had a hidden homage behind it.
In his promo, Rhodes called Priest a “walk-behinder” taking shots at Mr. MITB. He said that, despite being the briefcase holder, the 41-year-old is not the leader of The Judgment Day. Damian Priest needs to take the lead of the group, according to Rhodes’ fiery promo. He also talked about his own path and said that he will vanquish Priest at Crown Jewel.
Rhodes also took shots at other members of The Judgment Day, saying that Damian Priest walks behind Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, and even Dominik Mysterio. This made Priest question his position, as he looked nervous when Raw went off the air. The story following Crown Jewel can result in the Priest turning face on The Judgment Day. This could mean the end of the faction or just Mr. MITB going his separate way. Fans have been entertained by the group over the past year, as they are the top act on Raw every week. Therefore, it will be interesting to watch what happens next for the heel faction.

On the go-home episode of Raw, Cody Rhodes blasted Damian Priest, calling him a “walk-behinder.” Rhodes also said that despite being Mr. MITB, Priest just walks behind Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio. This was a direct reference to Cody’s father Dusty Rhodes’ promo from several decades ago.
In this promo, WWE legend Dusty Rhodes was seen talking to his elder son Dustin Rhodes, better known to WWE fans as Goldust. During the segment, The American Dream calls Arn Anderson a “walk behinder” and cuts a passionate promo on his son. Therefore, fans are finding the reference in Cody’s promo interesting.
Dusty Rhodes is considered to be one of the greatest talkers of all time. Therefore, it is only natural that his younger son took some pages out of his book to cut a passionate promo. The segment between Rhodes and Priest left fans excited for their match at Crown Jewel.
