WrestleMania is all set to take place in Philadelphia next year for its 40th anniversary. WWE is already making plans for its main event while keeping an eye on the superstar’s progress. As in the discussion now, the spectacular event will once again have Cody Rhodes in the main event. But WWE has a different opponent in mind this time for Rhodes.
WRKD Wrestling, which is a reliable source, tweeted a possible match for WrestleMania 40. It stated that WWE is planning a huge match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther at the main event of Mania. Both superstars are currently on Monday Night Raw. While Cody Rhodes has a babyface character, Gunther has been playing a heel persona on television.
According to the source, they could be competing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther can draw much attention from fans. The match could possibly take place in the main event spot on the first night. This is something many fans will love to witness.
On the other hand, Roman Reigns will take his title with him until next year’s WrestleMania. Reigns is likely to defend the Undisputed Universal Championship on Night 2 of The Showcase of the Immortals. WWE is cooking up some huge matches for the two-night extravaganza in Philadelphia next year.
According to rumors, Gunther will win the Royal Rumble next year. He is likely to challenge the World Heavyweight Champion. As of now, the Ring General has been the reigning Intercontinental Champion for over a year. On the other hand, Cody Rhodes is feuding with Brock Lesnar on the main roster. Cody Rhodes’ plans for SummerSlam 2023

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes is currently feuding with Brock Lesnar on Raw. He will face the Beast Incarnate at Night of Champions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Rhodes underwent a vicious attack at the hands of Lesnar and suffered an injury this week on Monday Night Raw.
According to Xero News, WWE plans for Rhodes to face off against Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam in August. There have only been discussions about it and nothing has been finalized yet. The report states that if Wyatt does not return, WWE might go with Cody vs. Brock at the biggest event of the summer.
After their match at Night of Champions, the American Nightmare is likely to go on hiatus. Rhodes can take some time off to justify his injury and skip the Money in the Bank event. The WWE Universe can expect Bray Wyatt to return after Night of Champions. The company has been hinting at it for a while now.
