Cody Rhodes and Shinsuke Nakamura settled their differences on the latest episode of Raw. In the main event, The American Nightmare took on his rival in an enthralling Street Fight. After a back-and-forth encounter, Cody put away The King of Strong Style with the Cross Rhodes to pick up the win.
The match had the live crowd on its feet in its entirety. The former Royal Rumble winners tore the place down, pulling off a few innovative spots in the bout. At the end, Cody pinned Nakamura in the middle of the ring as he moved one step closer to “finishing his story.”
Now, the 38-year-old can focus on his main goal, winning the upcoming Rumble match. However, it won’t be an easy task for Cody this time. The likes of CM Punk and Drew McIntyre pose a huge hurdle, with both of them looking to finish their own respective stories as well.
On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman called out Cody Rhodes for his insistence on accomplishing his dream. In reply, the second-generation star revealed that he was all ears to hear from him. Needless to say, this year’s Royal Rumble matches will be interesting to watch, with no outright favorite to win either of them.
Cody Rhodes reacts to his huge victory against Shinsuke Nakamura
The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes, has always talked about accomplishing his dream. Furthermore, his return to the WWE was for one main reason: to win the WWE Championship. After finally putting an end to his personal rivalry with Shinsuke Nakamura, the 38-year-old has shared what is next for him.
The former Intercontinental Champion reacted to his win on X. Cody has expectedly responded by revealing that he is only two steps away from “finishing his story.” Moreover, he believes that he will replicate last year’s victory in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
However, Cody will look to change the outcome of the second step as he came up short at WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns. The latter is still reigning supreme as the Undisputed Universal Champion. As such, the WWE Universe will be looking forward to The American Nightmare’s Road to WrestleMania.
