Cody Rhodes shared his feelings after winning the Royal Rumble
Last year, Cody Rhodes returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 39 after six years. The American Nightmare beat Seth Rollins at the event. The WWE Universe hadn’t expected to see Rhodes in the company again, as he had left the company in 2016 on a bitter note. He was one of the vital members of AEW, who helped launch the company.
Rhodes also served as one of the Executive Vice Presidents of the company. However, he along with his wife Brandi, couldn’t negotiate in terms of new contract and left the company in February last year.
Cody Rhodes spoke with WWE on FOX after the Rumble Match and expressed his emotions. He mentioned that a year ago he wasn’t wrestling here, and it’s a surreal feeling. Rhodes was amazed at how his career has turned out up until now.
“It doesn’t just feels good, it feels surreal. I wasn’t working here a year ago. My god, it feels surreal. I don’t know how we got here. You know, there were things in my career that lined up perfectly, and I don’t know how we got here.”
Cody Rhodes is currently one of the top babyfaces in the company as of now. He will surely fight the World Champion at WrestleMania, depending on how things turn out from now on. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns has defended the Universal Championship against Kevin Owens. It is unclear whether he would defend the title at Elimination Chamber or not.
