WWE superstar Cody Rhodes has addressed the speculation surrounding his decision to bring Jey Uso to Monday Night Raw since Payback 2023. Rhodes revealed on The Grayson Waller Effect that Jey will now be part of the red brand going forward. Reactions from the superstars regarding the addition of the former Bloodline member to the RAW roster have been mixed.
In the recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Cody Rhodes competed against Dominik Mysterio. Following the match, members of Judgment Day ambushed him. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn intervened to rescue him. Owens then confronted The American Nightmare, questioning his decision to bring Jey Uso to RAW on behalf of numerous individuals in the locker room.
The former AEW superstar said that he always wanted to make the WWE Universe happy and so he did what they wanted. He told Kevin Owens, “You are looking at somebody who has received a lot of second chances. He is one of the very best in the world and he deserves a second chance and I think we need to give him time to show us that he has changed.” Watch the video here.
Sami Zayn quickly jumped in and supported Cody Rhodes’ decision. He told Owens, “You don’t have to give him a second chance but I think you should. You’ve given me second chances, I have given you second chances and because of that we won the Undisputed Tag Team Championships in the Main Event of WrestleMania.”
Despite given reasons, the Prize Fighter remained unconvinced, citing Jey Uso’s past actions against them. Eventually, Kevin Owens left the ring, hoping Cody had made the right choice.
Jey Uso’s future in Monday Night Raw
Ever since Jey Uso stepped foot on Monday Night Raw, fans are excited and eager to see what the future holds for the former Bloodline member. However, many members of the RAW roster are certainly unhappy with this decision. He is currently struggling to gain the trust of the locker room.
The only people happy about his arrival are Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes. Jey’s efforts to gain the trust of Kevin Owens shattered to dust. Last week on Monday Night Raw, he accidentally super-kicked the Prize Fighter. Jey Uso locked horns with Drew McIntyre this week on the show.
The Scottish Warrior is not happy to see him around. He mentioned that he has not forgotten what Jey, along with The Bloodline, did to him in the past. The 38-year-old was also offered to join The Judgment Day. However, Main Event Uso finally delivered an emphatic statement this week on Monday Night Raw.
