WrestleMania 40 is set to be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pre-sale tickets were released for the two-night event on August 16. On the same day, Roman Reigns’ rumored opponent for next year’s Mania, Cody Rhodes, took a trip to the site of The Showcase of the Immortals.
WWE’s social media accounts posted a vlog showing glimpses of his visit to the venue. First, the American Nightmare met with the Pulse podcast’s anchor, Bill Anderson, before shooting for an episode on his show. Afterwards, he did a couple of more interviews with other talk shows, such as NBC 10.
During this, Rhodes reminisced about the time he was in the city for Money In The Bank. He said, “Everyone in the city just got behind me; I wasn’t that guy yet, but I never forget that moment.” Furthermore, the second-generation star mentioned that from that time on, Philadelphia became his second hometown.
While visiting the stadium, Cody Rhodes claimed that next year’s WrestleMania aims to be the biggest ever. He also interacted with a few fans, even asking them whether they had bought tickets to the events or not. The former Intercontinental Champion then showed why many people adore him as he invited them to take selfies with him. Rhodes said that such moments are usually his favorite part of big events.

Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes II rumored for WrestleMania 40
This year’s WrestleMania saw a surprising conclusion on Night 2. Roman Reigns overcame Cody Rhodes to retain his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. Many fans and journalists believed that the latter was definitely going to end the historic reign. However, it was not meant to be, as Solo Sikoa helped his cousin defeat the American Nightmare.
The next night on RAW, Rhodes confronted the Tribal Chief asking him for a rematch. But his plan changed after Brock Lesnar attacked him in the main event, leading to a summer-long rivalry between the two. This was Cody and Roman’s last interaction before they were drafted to different brands. Since then, there have been various reports that WWE officials are pushing in the direction of a rematch at WrestleMania 40.
It will most certainly be for the championship that has eluded the 38-year-old throughout his career. Fans are hoping that it finally becomes the moment where the Prodigal Son “finishes his story.” Moreover, this automatically makes him the favorite to win next year’s Royal Rumble match for a second consecutive year as well.
