The American Nightmare reached a step closer towards the American Dream at the Royal Rumble. After a quintessential performance, Cody Rhodes punched his ticket to the Showcase of the Immortals. He’s now slated to main-event the show with Roman Reigns with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship up for grabs.
Despite his newsworthy moment in San Antonio, Rhodes feels bummed for one thing. As known, the Prodigal Son ruptured his ear drum during the Men’s Royal Rumble, which took off a part of his hearing capacity, for the time being. As revealed during a recent interview with NY Post, Cody wasn’t able to soak in the entire adrenaline in his soul due to the partial medical dysfunction.
He discussed how it’s an irony when over 60,000 people are cheering for you, however you’re only able to hear half of them. It would’ve been a full-circle moment for Rhodes if everything went as planned for him. But, nothing is certain in this business. Risk is always there and one needs to fight through them. At the end of the day, Cody Rhodes is grateful that nothing was serious and he doesn’t needs to be on that unwanted list once again.
“The last thing we need to do is get hurt because you don’t want to be on that medical list. Anyways, I was able to get through it just fine, just a tiny little perforation. The funny thing was on a night that you’re surrounded by 60,000 people in the Alamodome, excited, you’d like to hear them, and I could only hear half of them.”

Cody Rhodes charged up Sami Zayn on this week’s Raw
After having a fiery promo with Paul Heyman last week, Cody Rhodes took it upon himself to make it 2 out of 2 this week. He got called out by Sami Zayn for an impromptu man-to-man faceoff. The Canadian wrestler questioned Cody’s actual faith in him. Zayn wasn’t sure about Rhodes’ comments over his ability to dethrone Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber.
However, The American Nightmare had all the answers to an unsettled Sami Zayn in Brooklyn. Rhodes reiterated the daredevil tactics Zayn applied to produce cracks in The Bloodline. By the end, Dusty’s baby boy kind of convinced The Master Strategist to believe in himself and take those titles off Reigns this Saturday in Montreal.
