When Cody Rhodes joined WWE again after working for AEW, he created history. He has undoubtedly gotten better in the ring and even on the mic, and when he returned to WWE, he was on a quest to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship or the WWE Universal Championship for himself.
After joining the organization, he launched one of the largest feuds of the year with Seth Rollins, the reigning US Champion, and was introduced as one of the biggest and top stars in the organization. The question that now arises is whether he will be at the top once he recovers from the injury.
In a recent episode of the Keep it in 100 podcasts, Disco Inferno provided an answer to this query. He stated that Cody Rhodes was presented as a top star because he posed a threat to the reign of the current Champion Roman Reigns and that when he returns to the organization, he will be placed at the same height.
Disco said that the amount of support and cheer he is getting right now makes him stay at the top automatically and who knows who will be the one who ends Roman’s legendary run as a Champion. Disco said, “No [he didn’t lose the top spot]. I think he can come back and he’ll be in that spot. I think he’s fine.”

Cody Rhodes sustained a significant injury, and it was predicted that he would not make a comeback to the ring until March of 2023. However, since his surgery just recently took place, it appears that he is recovering more quickly and that he will return much sooner.
Even more convincing evidence that he may be preparing to return to the ring action at the Royal Rumble match of 2023 comes from the medical staff’s statement that he might be doing so in January. This will make the event much more intriguing to watch.
