“I Was Furious”: Retired WWE Superstar Expresses Disappointment Over Austin Theory’s Recent Booking

Austin Theory‘s recent booking has enraged the WWE Universe. Austin Theory is now one of the few wrestlers to have failed to cash in the MITB contract. This week on RAW, he cashed in the contract for the US Championship and was on the verge of defeating Seth Rollins, but Lashley’s interference cost him the match.

Bobby Lashley destroyed Austin Theory at ringside, but the former US Champion entered the ring before the ten count, only to get stomped by Seth Rollins and lose his coveted Money in the Bank contract.

Austin Theory received a massive push during the Vince McMahon era in WWE. However, things changed drastically as Triple H took over the reigns as WWE Chief Content Officer after McMahon’s retirement. Fans believe the ‘King of Kings’ took the call of Theory failing in his cash in as he feels the youngster is not ready to grab the biggest prize in WWE today.

Fans aren’t the only ones unhappy with Austin Theory’s Money in the Bank loss. Raw commentator Corey Graves, too, has expressed his displeasure on the same. During the latest edition of After the Bell, Graves admitted Theory was viewed as the ‘Next Big Thing’ in Vince McMahon’s regime, but it isn’t the case with Triple H in power.

“I’m furious with how it all played out. I was furious as it was unfolding before our very eyes mere feet away from us as Theory strutted his way down. I think the world of Austin Theory and I truly believe what Mr. McMahon was saying six months ago. This guy could be the guy.” said Corey Graves.

Austin Theory is not doomed because of a failed cash in

Things were pretty merry for the 25-year-old when Vince McMahon used to run the WWE. McMahon favored him because he saw Austin Theory as the WWE’s virtuoso. Austin Theory became the youngest United States Champion in the WWE. Following which, he became the youngest United States Champion in the company’s history.

Despite what appears to be a disastrous situation for Austin Theory, Ringside News report states there are much better plans for Theory now as compared to in the Vince McMahon. It was noted that Theory will be a major part of the US Title picture with Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley going forward.

With Bobby Lashley turning heel at the Crown Jewel, it would fascinate to see three heels fight each other, maybe with the addition of a babyface in Mustafa Ali. Ali has also set his sights on the US Championship but hasn’t been able to grab the gold. After all, we can Never say Never in WWE!
