Plans for Rhea Ripley's title defense at SummerSlam can be seen getting clearer as recent reports suggest Raquel Rodriguez's name as her next opponent.

Rhea Ripley successfully defended her World Women’s Championship on the last episode of RAW against Natalya. A few weeks ago, WWE hinted at a possible title defense for Ripley at SummerSlam. The company also gave a certain hint this week after her match. According to Wrestling Observer, The Eradicator could face Raquel Rodriguez at the Biggest Party of The Summer.
After Ripley secured her win over The Queen of Harts, she started ambushing her after the match. As a result, the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez came to her aid and kept Ripley away from Natalya. As she walked out of the ring, Rodriguez was seen giving a tough look to the World Women’s Champion as the former stood tall in the ring. Rhea sarcastically bid her adieu and walked away, looking at her.
Their previous encounter came at a backstage segment on the June 19 episode of RAW. Rodriguez battled Trish Stratus in the Money in the Bank qualification match on that episode of Raw. Although just before her matchup, Rhea Ripley ambushed Natalya and did not allow the latter to compete in the match.
The Eradicator also came to Raquel’s face to show her dominance backstage. They were involved in a brief confrontation at the Gorilla position. Rodriguez stated her dominance by saying, “Rhea isn’t ready for Raquel Rodriguez.”
WWE could lead this storyline to SummerSlam, where the two women would face each other in a title match. Dave Meltzer also stated that a few matches for SummerSlam are taking shape as the event is just a few weeks away. Fans can most likely see two of them battle at the August extravaganza.
Rhea Ripley declines a new joining for The Judgment Day
The Money in the Bank event at the O2 Arena in London saw a number of memorable moments. John Cena was also seen making his presence known, which made the audience go bonkers. Cena congratulated both the Money in the Bank ladder match winners and clicked pictures with them backstage.
WWE uploaded some backstage pictures on their website. Tweeting one of those pictures, the WWE Deutschland Twitter handle raised a unique question. It shared the picture of Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, and Cena and asked whether The Cenation Leader is planning on joining The Judgment Day.
The Eradicator replied to the post, declining the possibility of John’s involvement. Rhea Ripley wrote, “You’d never see that coming??” and closed the discussion for new members for The Judgment Day. She was also spotted talking in private with the 16-time world champion backstage.
