LA Knight is not a rookie in this business. Previously, he wrestled for Impact Wrestling as Eli Drake. After spending years of his career in the promotion once held by Dixie Carter, the 40-year-old signed with WWE. His main-roster debut was a massive downgrade as Vince McMahon handed him a modeling scout gimmick. However, once Triple H gained the creative reins, he once again reverted him back to LA Knight, his character from NXT.

After being placed in a massive feud with Bray Wyatt so early, the higher-ups were seemingly high on him. Even though he lost that Pitch Black Match at the Royal Rumble, Knight received enough exposure. What followed that was a steep fall in LA Knight’s hot stock. In the meanwhile, he got over with the main-roster audience so rapidly. The way he talks on that microphone often draws comparisons from The Rock.

At present, he’s in a tough situation. The creative direction for the former Eli Drake hasn’t been consistent at all. Last night on SmackDown, he defeated Rick Boogs. After the match, Knight issued a warning to Montez Ford, who was placed on commentary with Angelo Dawkins. Now, during last afternoon’s press-conference of Night of Champions, Triple H kicked-off the media event. The mob immediately started chanting LA Knight’s name in front of the WWE CCO.

That was a sight to behold. Hunter couldn’t help but control his laughter. To note, Knight is there in Jeddah alongside fellow other superstars. After receiving so much backing from the audience worldwide, it’s now being reported that the management hasn’t overheard any of those. According to WRKD Wrestling, those chants ‘haven’t gone unnoticed’. Instead, Knight is an internal candidate to win this year’s Money in the Bank Ladder match too.

As announced on Twitter by WWE, two Money in the Bank qualifying matches has been made official. Next week on the blue brand, LA Knight battles Montez Ford and Zelina Vega squares off against Lacey Evans. One would feel that WWE has placed Knight in yet another tricky situation.

Montez Ford has been on a roll as of late. It’s really hard to predict who’s taking the win on Friday. However, as mentioned by several reports, a push for LA Knight is ‘100% in the books’. Moving forward with that agenda, there’s no way he’s going to lose his MITB ladder match spot in London.
