Damage CTRL has a mission of world dominance in 2024. The faction had quite a successful 2023 as its member, Iyo Sky, captured the WWE Women’s Championship. The reason behind the success of the group is the incredible ring skills of Sky as well as Bayley and the sharp mind of Dakota Kai. Recently, the latter Damage CTRL member revealed her new look ahead of the Royal Rumble.
Dakota Kai posted on her Instagram a short clip of herself revealing her new look. She has dyed her hair blonde after having a tint of pink for a long time. The new hair color looks as beautiful as ever, with some nice strands of black as well. Moreover, the 35-year-old superstar has been on a roll apart from her professional wrestling career, as she has also started a new podcast with Zelina Vega.
The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion was injured last year and was absent from television for a few months afterward. She returned to WWE programming at SummerSlam 2023 after Iyo Sky won the Women’s title. Although Kai has been appearing regularly on SmackDown ever since, she has stayed away from in-ring action.
It was speculated earlier that Dakota might be back in action in February 2024. There is a huge possibility of her coming back to in-ring action sometime on the road to WrestleMania. Besides, the Royal Rumble is just on the horizon, and what better time and place to return to action than the coveted Rumble match itself?
Dakota Kai lashes out at the people who are calling her ACL injury fake
Dakota Kai has a journey of ebbs and flows in her professional wrestling career. She was released by WWE earlier, only for her to make her return to the company at SummerSlam 2022. However, she tore her ACL shortly after, which led to her being out for months of her career. Now, some fans have made some allegations against Kai, implying that she is faking her injury.
The 35-year-old superstar on her Twitch stream lashed out at these fans, saying it was not necessary for her to be in a wheelchair during the time of her rehab. She went on to say that she could run and jump, although she was cleared to compete in the ring. Moreover, Kai stated that it is an unfortunate event for her, and she would not fake her injury to remain on the sidelines.
Bro, you want me to be in a wheelchair until I’m cleared? That’s not how rehab works. I’m able to run and jump. This isn’t a shocker. I’m like, ‘Why would I do that? Why would I choose to sit on the sidelines? Like, no one wants that. No one wishes that on anyone. But I’m able to… like, I can run. I can jump.Dakota Kai on her Twitch stream
Besides, Kai has been making solid progress. She revealed that there is a time period for rehab varying from 6 months to 9 months and even 12 months. Furthermore, she has talked about her in-ring return previously as well. It is going to be interesting to see when and where Dakota will be making her anticipated return to wrestling.
