One such name that he brought back was Dakota Kai. WWE released her from the company on April 29, 2022. However, one year later, she’s involved in one of the biggest matches of her career at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Dakota Kai is one of the most successful NXT stars who has made her name in the yellow brand. She won multiple championships during her tenure. The Kiwi superstar has impressed the fans with her performance. However, the company released her last year along with many other superstars under Vince McMahon’s era. Three months later, the former NXT star astounded the world by making her shocking return to WWE.

Dakota Kai returned to the company last year at SummerSlam along with returning superstars Bayley and Io Sky. She has aligned herself with two of the most talented female superstars to form a faction known as Damage CTRL. Ever since her return, the former NXT superstar has been a part of some incredible storylines in the tag team division. Moreover, she has won the Women’s Tag Team Championship twice since her triumphant return.

Exactly one year after her WWE release, Dakota Kai will be featured in a match at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Alongside Damage CTRL, she will share the ring with two of the most iconic names in WWE: Trish Stratus and Lita. Without a shadow of doubt, life has brought an unexpected turn of events for the former NXT superstar. Things have taken a miraculous turn for her within just one year.

However, Dakota Kai’s shocking return has given her the opportunity of a lifetime to shine. The Former women’s tag team champion will be a part of the Showcase of Immortals this year. She has been carving her way to the pinnacle of the women’s division in WWE.

Dakota Kai’s run in Damage Control

Dakota Kai returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2022, along with returning superstars Bayley and Io Sky. The three of them formed a heel faction on Raw known as Damage CTRL. Dakota Kai and Io Sky won their maiden WWE Women’s Tag Team titles by defeating Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez on the September 12 episode of Raw. However, they lost the titles to Alexa Bliss and Asuka within just two months.

The two former NXT stars stunned the world when they captured the tag titles once again at WWE Crown Jewel 2022, winning it for the second time. Besides, Dakota Kai has been doing wonders in the women’s division. She was also a part of this year’s Royal Rumble. Moreover, WWE involved her in feuds with some of the most prominent names, such as Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka.

Damage CTRL, however, lost the women’s tag team championship against Becky Lynch and Lita on the February 27 episode of Raw. However, Dakota Kai will square off in a six-woman tag team match at the Biggest Night of the Year. From being released last year to becoming a part of WrestleMania, her career has taken a promising turn.
